Default Question about installing a few mods.

As the title says, I am having difficulty installing a few mods. The two in question are Rule Britannia and Battle Axe. Whenever I try to install these two mods I get an error saying that M2TW:K isn't installed. I have M2TW and all four Kingdom Campaigns installed, from a legal release of the DVDs. See below pictures for the error and proof of install. I also tried to do a fresh install of the British Isles before trying again to install Rule Britannia.

The only changes that I made to the Kingdoms expansions was add --io.file_first in the target line of each campaign. So I could add in some minor mods, like better water and better AI.
    Example- "C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\kingdoms.exe" --io.file_first --features.mod=mods/americas

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful.

I know some mods require the game be unpacked, including whichever Kingdoms campaign it is based on. AJStoner has a post about Rule Brittania being this way.

    To Vegas_Bear:

IVIarkI2I came up with a hotfix for Rule Britannia that seems to get around this issue. You can get it here.

After putting the patch in the mods folder, I'm still getting the same error about not finding a valid installation of M2TW K. Any ideas?

Would it matter that none of the Kingdoms expansions are unpacked, giving the error that it can't find a valid installation?

That's the best guess I can make right now...

Are you running a 64-bit version of vista or win7? Have you run the game, without a mod, since the last time you installed?

Using WindowsXP SP3 and I rarely play one of the expansion campaigns. I have not played the original M2TW in years.

Looks like the installer is looking for the registry entry of the game (mine do) and can't find it. Corrupted registry?

Might be, how can I repair or replace it? Complete reinstall of M2TW I suppose?

That's the safest way - messing manually with the registry is a sure fire way to disaster if you don't know 100% what you are doing. Uninstall all via control panel - starting with the campaigns. Check for 'left-overs' and remove them manually. Once done restart the computer to unload the registry from memory (?) and then re-install.
