Default My PC and Oblivion (I know but listen please :P )

Now I did a check at The Sytem Requirements Lab ( http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest <= awesome thing if you want to check your system by the way!!)

Now what I get is this:

I was wondering if those two things (Vertex shader and Pixel shader) mattered very much when playing Oblivion, or are they optional if I put the Graphical settings on lowest? I don't really know anything about them, so I thought it was best asking here.

Some games are starting to require DX9 video cards now (like Battlefield 2), which means older graphics cards like yours simply will not run on it. I'm not sure if Oblivion will run on your computer or not, but I can tell you this, without a DX9 graphics card (which have vertex and pixel shader 2.0 or higher), your games will look like crap. I suggest you get a new graphics card, even a $50 Geforce 7300 or X600 will do, it will make the games look so much better. If you run Oblivion on you computer it will look just like the orginal Elder Scrolls, and nothing like the screen shots.

The minimum shader requirement is 2.0, I don't you'll get past the loading screen with that.

Ok thanks guys, personaly I don't want to buy a graphics card, because I don't really care much about graphical detail, gameplay is more important (I'm not a GFX-*****, yay me!!! ) but if I don't get past the loading screen in todays games I think I better buy a cheap DX9 AGP card then.

edit: I can run BF2 alright with everything on lowest so I thought maybe it'll work in Oblivion to. Guess not

Oblivion looks worse than morrowind on ultra-low. Anything from medium and up is sufficient though.
