    Default Windows 7 What version?

After the last problems i had with my pc (net conections,steam-shogun2 crashes etc) i desided to give Windows 7 a try.
I know nothing about Windows 7 -as i know almost nothing about XP afcourse.
I am asking what version should i order and install because:
I am active moder on M2TW/Kingdoms mods.
    I still play RTW mods.
My pc details in general are:
    Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q 8200@ 2.33Ghz
    2.33Ghz 4.0 GB Ram
GC Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 (Upgraded to 275.33).
So i am looking the best version in order to continue moding and playing my older games plus Shogun 2.
If Windows 7 64bit have no negative issues with those upwards then i will order that version. If there are negative issues i can order 32bit version.
Soon i will need instructions about making W7 to serve the games and their mods fanctions.

    Thank you in advance:
    Anthony
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

I am running the 32bit version of windows7 (Premium home) and haven't gotten an issue yet where modding is concerned. Just follow all the Vista tips and you should be fine. The major one would be this one:

How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems

Not sure if you can do a mix and match between the bit versions like you seem to suggest. That is processor dependent I believe.

A quick Google search threw up this article. Apparently there is a compatibility setting like in Vista.

I'm running mods for RTW and SimCity 4 on Win 7, 64 bit. It takes a little setting up but the results are wothr it.

No problem and there is not much of a difference when using a 64 bit Operating System. Almost all x86 (32 bit) applications are compatible with it but 64 bit applications perform better in comparison, Win RAR for e.g. for that you also need a 64 bit processor (CPU) which you already have.

With 64 bit OS you can increase the size of your RAM which was limited to only 3.5 GB if using a 32 bit OS so that's another plus. Anyways if you have problems whether a simple query or something technical then feel free to ask us.

One year passed by, can I ask which version is better for gaming?

I personally use the ultimate edition but it doesn't matter which version you have when it comes to gaming.

Home premium, professional and ultimate edition only vary in some additional features on which gaming doesn't depends.

Doesn't make a difference. Professional supports more than 16gb of RAM, that's the only gaming difference.

Majority of the games are 32 bit type and thus they don't use more than 2GB of space. Also for 64-bit editions, Win 7 Home Premium can use up to 16GB, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate can use 192GB. You might have confused it with home basic which can run upto 8GB iirc.
