Default A few very basic questions

    1. I've played ETW and I like the ADVANCE button. During battles it causes my grouped formation to just advance as one group straight ahead. When I right click on a location in front of my group in MTW2, my formation changes facing and I don't know how they're going to end up. Is there a way to do this right?
    2. I can't see my units in forests from above the battlefield. Can I remove the trees on the battle map?
    3. I've played Kingdoms as Spain in the Americas Campaign. I got a message that I destroyed the English Colonies faction, but they reappeared three times.
    4. How do I know what the other faction's victory conditions are and how close they are to winning? I was progressing in the Americas Campaign and the I got a message that the Tarascan's victory was imminent and they won a few turns later.

    1. hold right mouse button and drag, might be hold left mouse button and drag
    2. you could probably remove trees through modding or maybe there's an option in options
    3. never played it, but probably reinforcements from sea, maybe something scripted in!
    4. look in the manual for victory conditions or at the faction select screen before starting a campaign, i dont think you can check during a campaign

Yeah, as dannyxx30 says, the English (and French) are getting reinforcements from home via a script. Also, as he says, you cannot check victory conditions during a campaign, only before (of course, you can just exit the current campaign and check from the main menu).

I think the french and english raids are endless. It has to be that way or else the Apaches would have trouble getting gunpowder weapons if the Europeans get killed off after the first round.

I don't think they are endless, but they are kind of like the Mongols in the original GC. They get reinforcements several times, and they are hordes, meaning you'll have to kill off every general to destroy them, including those arriving with the new forces from Europe.
