Scaeva also owns a Roman Home, far larger and equally splendorous on the inside in comparison with the Proconsulate on Sicily, he rarely spends any time here unless he is on vacation or doing a major business deal. There is a sign by the door that says


"Family, Friends, and Invited Guests only. Visitors and strangers please notify a slave at the slave's quarters before speaking with me."

This sign is rather large so that everyone gets the message, almost as though for emphasis, there is a guard dog chained up not ten feet from the sign.

Tiberius Julius Caesar, ex Consul, arrives to see Scaeva.

After much scurrying and running to and fro, Julius Caesar was invited into the Villa proper.

"Forgive my master's tardiness, but he is resolving some financial issues with a client" The slave said, "If you will take a seat and try some dates, he will be with you in a moment."

He sat and awaited to be seen.

Eventually, a dried up and skinny figure emerged from Scaeva's study, along with a more rotund man.

The skinny and dried up man went to greet Caesar, while the rotund one promptly left.

"Welcome to my home Julius! Forgive my tardiness, I was dealing with some business with a debtor. What can I do for you today?"

"I have come to discuss politics. As you know I am part of the populist faction of Senators. I believe you would be a grand addition to this group and I wish to ask for an alliance between us."

Caesar smiled.

"We look after our own as well as the people and I can assure you that should you join us we will support you in turn in your future endeavors."

"Populist hm? And could you educate me on your views? Populist is a good describing word, but I still do not know if my beliefs line up with yours. Wouldn't want to support someone I would normally oppose hm?" Scaeva asked.

"We seek to advance the people's will. Help the people. This sometimes comes at the expense of the rich but that is what we must do to ensure freedom for the Republic."

He waves his hand.

"And. as I said, we take care of our own. You are Pro-Consul this year, yes? Perhaps we could run a joint ticket for Consulship next year..."

Scaeva goes deep into thought,

A year or two ago, I would have been amongst the rich that would be hurt by these men, but since my poor investing bouts, I would be more helped than not by the populists.

"I would have to thank you for the offer, but I must think on this. As for the Consulship, I do not intend to become Consul anytime soon."

He stands then pauses.

"There is alot of money in helping the people, Pro-Consul, more then in anything else. Ask yourself, who it is who allows the rich to become so..."

He shakes Servius' hand then leaves.

Sextus arrives, acompanied by his bodyguards. He wishes to speak with the Pro-Consul.

A slave leads Sextus into the business room, where a pale-skinned and skinny Scaeva sits, and says to him,

"Greetings honorable friend. I am Servius Quinctilius Scaeva, and who are you?"

[The Stig]

"My name is Sextus Tuccius Alexander. A slave said you were at my villa wishing to speak with me. I was out at the time and I am now wondering what you wanted to speak about."

"Ah, yes that. You see, as proconsul of Sicilia and Africa, I need to make sure my more... Influential citizens are content. I have been going around to the richer and more prominent families and asking them things that they would change. For the most part, I have gotten mundane, nonconstructive answers. Maybe you will be different."

"We appreciate your concern. We are mostly content, but would be much more supportive of you if you decided to agree with us on certain matters of trade."

Tribune Servius comes to speak to the Pro Consul about politics

Scaeva nods to the Tucci, "And what matters of trade are you speaking of?"

He then nods to Tribune Servius, and a slave takes him into the waiting room of the villa for refreshments and a place to rest.

Tribune Servius nodded at the servant and sipped his wine as he waited for the Senator

Scaeva nods to the Tucci, "And what matters of trade are you speaking of?"

"There is nothing as of yet, but in the future we may call on you to make decisions that would benefit us, in return we would generously donate to your reelection campaign"

Scaeva nods.

"This man is bold and rather blunt. I think I rather like this fellow." He ponders, waving off the Tucci.

He turns to Tribune Servius, "Forgive me for the wait Tribune, but I was in the middle of a meeting with one of my more... influential persons in Sicilia and Africa."
