Default New PC in the £800-900 range

I've been looking for a while now for a new pre-built desktop in the £800-900 range (especially with Skyrim coming out). I already have a decent monitor etc. so I'm looking for one without peripherals. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about hardware, and there's so much choice, so I'm finding it pretty hard to find something that's good value. If anyone has any suggested models that would be great.

EDIT: At the moment I'm looking at something like this. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Well that PC is terrible value for money, must it be prebuilt? Self assembly is so much easier than people think and you get so much more because of it.

Yeah I realise that self assembly ideal but I really don't fancy taking that route.

I also noticed this, which is actually only £850 without the monitor. http://www.chillblast.com/pconf.php?productid=19721

I really don't like it when a prebuilt PC uses a no brand PSU, gives me little faith in the overall quality of the product. The fact that oth websites you posted are still using the old i7 processors is also a bad sign.

    Look on overclockers.co.uk and scan.co.uk

Both should provide modern hardware options at better prices with quality components

Cheers for the advice. In that case I guess I'd be looking at something like this.

How about looking for an independant builder, to fully construct a PC to your specs, without all the guff that pre-built computers come with?

The three PCs I've had were built like that, all with high-quality components from SCAN. There seem to be plenty of people who do this sort of stuff in their free time, for a small fee.

Or you could to your local PC shop that sells PC components and order whatever components(that the guys in this forum list up) and ask them to build it for you. It's still cheaper than prebuilt. In any retailer with a good service, atleast.
