Caesar arrives to see Celatus, telling the doormen that it involves Senate business.

[Celsius]

Aulus escorts the Senator to Senator Titus. He then makes a slight bow then leaves
"Senator Caesar. What brings you here today?"

[RVFVS]

"I have heard you are a man of the people. Is this rumor the truth?"

[Celsius]

"A man of the people must first come from the people themselves. So indeed, it is no rumor Senator."

[RVFVS]

"There is a land bill that will be proposed soon in the Senate. I will not be here to see it proposed as I am leaving soon for Greece. However, I want to assure it will pass. I need to know I can count on your support."

He nodded.

"The bill will take all public land in the province of Campaignia and divide it into 5,000 allotments. This land will then be given to the people for free."

[Celsius]

"An idea such as that is noble and gracious, but who is to decide who gets the allotments? The Aristocracy of Rome? Ideas like this are difficult to implement Senator, especially in this political climate."

[RVFVS]

"A Committee of six will be elected. Three must be plebs."

[Celsius]

"And then there is something stuck in the back of my mind....

Are you trying to get the people out of Rome so it may become a play ground for the wealthy and politically inclined?"

"If I wanted to do that I would have much easier ways to do it. No, I intend for these poor men to return to Rome and vote. I simply wish to help them feed their families."

"I will have to wait and see before I can give my answer. The bill could have alot of things attached, so I will wait, just to make sure."

Caesar nodded and rose.

"Shall I send you a copy when I have finished it then?"

[Celsius]

"Please do. If it indeed does what you say, it shall have my support."

[RVFVS]

Caesar nodded, shook Celatus' hand and left.

Consul Severus Cincinnatus arrives at the domus of Celatus seeking an audience

The Guard Naso bows to the Consular
"Please, follow me Sir."
He walks inside the house and take the Consular to a door. He then gives a slight bow to the Senator and Consular and leaves
"Consular! What brings you here today? I hope I have not offended or done anything wrong to sponsor this visit."

[Pontifex Maximus]

Nay, Celatus. I come on official business, I'm afraid. I wanted to warn you to prepare a suit of fines for the proconsuls should they not pay the upkeep on their legions within three months (Friday).

[Celsius]

"I see. Any particular number or percentage, or shall I improvise?"

[Pontifex Maximus]

500 Denarii per legion is the approximate cost, though I leave it to your discretion whether or not to charge them a further fee for their lateness if you are forced to file the suit with the Praetor. You could also charge a small fee for your services, within reason...
