Servius sees the man in front of his villa and smiles. He finally had a quest of his own. He had just came back from another senators house and had gone to the market to get some supplies. He looked at the Senator as he walked passed him and took out a key and unlocked the door. He then turned to face the Senator and smiled.

" Greeting senator. How may i help you ?. "Servius asked in a calm voice as he entered his home and lit some candles that lined the hallway to the first room of the villa. He then turned to face the man waiting for the man to respond

The Pro-Consul-to-be approached the older man and smiled.

"Salve Tribune. I am sorry to disturb you but I have come to discuss the business of state."

    He paused.

"As you know I will be away in Greece, probably in Asia due to this recent uprising, fighting. I will be unable to propose bills. However, I have a bill I would like to see proposed, a land bill. A bill for the people."

Servius listened to the man and smiled " So you are going to Greece eh. Well I hope the gods watch over you and whoever you bring with you. I have heard of the uprising and wish the gods themselves would take care of those pirates as they have done many harsh things to the Roman people. But I have faith that you and your army will take care of them. And bring justice to all the Roman people they have killed in their act of Rebellion. " Servius said as he went inside to get two goblets filled with wine. He then returned to the man and handed him one before speaking

" What kind of land bill is it ?. And what will it do for the people ? "

Servius listened to the man and frowned not really sure how he would be able to help the man " If I do this for you Senator. I want you to build temples to the god Mars in Greece and destory the temples of the goddess Venus or Aphrodite as the Greeks call her. Her temples are filled with the worst kind of people. People that used their bodies to get what they want. That is poor roman morals my friend and I wish to make Romans proud and have high morals. "

Servius took a sip of his wine " Now who will make up these 6 people that will determine who gets the land ? and when you say confiscate which usually means taking away. What kind of public land is this you wish to take ? "

"State land will be seized by this committee and then given to poor plebeians with no land. There will be 5,000 farms."

    Caesar crossed his arms.

"State land would be land that is being farmed by massive amounts of slaves and going toward only the rich and the corrupt. You speak of a Republic with good morals: does that sound like good morals, Senator?"

Servius listened to the man " You want me to support a bill that will give plebs farms ?. I will have to think about it because how i present the bill will dictate how the other senators will see me. If the others Senators see me giving power to the Plebs they might shun me and it will be harder to pass some of my bills that i have in mine. So i will see how i can change it up a little to suit both of our needs. Now getting to your moral question "

Servius sipped his wine slowly before speaking
" Is it not moral that Slaves are learning from their master proper Roman values ?. is it not moral that us rich folks are trying to help plebs as much as we can ?. because i think it is moral to do that. We could let the Slaves die and not be educated. We could allow the plebs to suffer but we do not. and how do you know who is corrupt and who is not ?. Did the gods grant you that power Senator ? "

    Caesar paused.

"Tribune I believe we should make a common pact. A pact of alliance. If you assist me in my reforms that I wish to push through to help the people of the Republic I can assure you that the morality of the Republic will, indeed, increase. If you support me in my future bills, and in turn veto those that would go against me, I can guarantee you I would institute a great programme of religious learning and building upon my return from Greece."

Servius looked at the Pro consul and listened to his words " I will think about it Senator but even if is support your bills. The other Tribune could veto them and then it will get nowhere. Your reforms sound good for the people. But I would need to have more information about them i would need to know what is at stake for the people of Rome if they pass. As you know the other senators hate change and will do anything to limit change. So you would need to convince the other Senators that this change is for the betterment of Rome "

The Tribune looked at the Senator" So when do you head out for Greece ? "

Upon hearing that a tribune had vetoed a populist measure, an angry mob descends upon his house. Although some of the mob carries weapons, possibly with the intent to kill, they arrive at an inopportune time. As night descends upon Rome, the evening cart traffic has begun. A large team of horses has parked outside the house of the tribune and as the noise of the crowd intensified, the horses ran mad. Scattering and trampling the mob, the horses bolted down alleys and side streets and eventually the fearful onlookers returned to their homes. The tribune had escaped this time.

"I do have the report Tribune, though it may be quite costly, but over a period of years, all of it could be completed if the financing is past."
Titus pulled out a small scroll and read
"We have 7 major cities within our Republic. To build a major Temple would cost about 9,000 - 10,000, in each city. So roughly 63,000- 70,000 Denarii. To build a port in our port cities, which we have 6 of, would cost much less considering we would just be improving our ports. I estimate about 4,000 Denarri per port, so 24,000 Denarii for Port improvement. This is all just my estimate though. It may be cheaper or more expensive depending on what the Senate believes"

Tribune Servius listened to the Queastor " Indeed that will be costly to build a major temple in each of the major cities of the empire. How about we only build a temple in Rome and in one other city of your choosing Queastor ?. That way each year we can build temples to the gods in all major cities but not all at once. Yes I think that will work for the Republic and for the people. The ports we can do with this motion as it will create jobs for the Plebs which is a good thing. "

Tribune asked a servant to get him and his quest some wine " Can you write that up in a bill please ?. I will present it to the Senate as soon as we finish our discussion here. And feel free to add anything to the Motion Queastor. As this is not only my motion but yours also "

"Of course. I must wait however until discussion on the current bill has ended, then I shall announce a Bill to build Temples and ports. Construction of the Republic seems to be important to you Tribune. Why if I may ask?"

Tribune Servius smiled " Building of the Republic will create jobs for the Plebs. It also will allow the other nations of the world wonder about how we could build such Splendid buildings that honor the gods and the people of the Republic. The people wish to honor their gods and to honor those that serve them with buildings. And it has been years since temples had been improved or built at all. My father once told me that he city used to have the best temples in the whole world. and then they fell into Decline and now they are nothing like their former self. Some cities do not even have temples so they are left out of the gods blessings. So besides Rome which city have you choose to build a temple or improve a temple in. "

The servant arrived with the wine and handed a goblet to Servius and the Queastor" I wish to improve the temple to Jupiter and Mars. As they are the most important gods for the Roman people. "
