    Default Templar heavy spearmen animations

Ive noticed that they attack as if they are sword infantry which makes it look very odd, was this intentional and is there anyway to fix it?

    hehe a suicidal sync-kill

SS team has been MIA for a long time so I doubt they'll fix this any time soon or ever.

I suppose the templar heavy spearmen goes by the internal name of "templar_sergeant" in the EDU(export_descr_units.txt), if you can find a fix please share.

    my bad, is the Noble_Spearmen

you can check in text\export_units.txt to see which internal name a unit has

I think this might be the culprit of the bad animations

    Code:
    soldier Dismounted_Polish_Nobles, 60, 0, 1.15, 0.30
Try replacing it with an animation of another spear armed unit like hungarian pavise spearmen and see how it goes

Hehe aparrently another unit suffers from this as well, Late Lithuanian Spearman

Yeah I got that the 1st time

I've never fiddled with animations before but i suspect you can disable that sync-kill in descr_skeleton.txt

as to which name this synckill have in there, no idea, you will have to do it by trial and error until you disable the correct one

    I would start looking around
    Code:
    type MTW2_Swordsman
which is the main animations group that sword armed soldier use

look for tutorials in twcenter or totalwar.org about editing descr_skeleton.txt, you might find useful info

the other solution would be to fix the animation itself...if you're skilled with milkshape or 3dmax, look for the export/import tutorials for .CAS files.

About the templar heavy spearmen, actually replacing
    Code:
    soldier Dismounted_Polish_Nobles, 60, 0, 1.15, 0.30
    with
    Code:
    soldier Noble_Spearmen, 60, 0, 1.15, 0.30
and for Late Lithiuanian Spearmen with
    Code:
    soldier Native_Warriors, 80, 0, 1.15, 0.30
should fix their incorrect animation issues
