How does one unlock ones camera, so I can change my camera angle from below my men, scroll further out, etc... For video editing purposes.

Go into the pause menu and in the video section uncheck the "Restrict Camera" box. I dont think you can scroll further down to get closer to the troops but it lets you bring the camera all the way around the battlefield.

go to your rome total war game on your desktop (Or where ever you have) then click on properties and you will get a menu. Go to the target line and at the end:"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe"
at the end of that line copy and paste this -movie_cam make sure there is only one space infront
it's the "-movie_cam" command in the target line that lets you move your camera literally anywhere you like in a battle replay, and if you hit enter while watching the battle replay, all HUD elements will be removed, although controls for this camera are different to normal TW. (Controls in Spoilers)

Numberpad 8 = Forward
Numberpad 2 = Back
Numberpad 1 = Strafe Left
Numberpad 3 = Strafe Right
Numberpad * = Ascend
Numberpad / = Descend
Numberpad + = Look Up
Numberpad - = Look Down
Numberpad 6 = Rotate Camera Right
Numberpad 4 = Rotate Camera Left
P = Pause

Remember - the -movie_cam switch only works with replays of custom battles (Rometotalwar did state this).

They did the movie camera so much simpler it Dawn of War 1 though. dont get why CA couldnt copy that.

Well in E:TW and S2:TW the "movie cam" in-game is the 'debug camera' which you can set by going into the preferences script.

On YouTube a few people have managed to make movies with "sweeping" shots apparently using the advanced controls of the movie editor. So far all I've found is this. Also apparently there was a tutorial on Activisions website called RTM_Doc06 but the original on freewebtown.com seems to be unavailable to me. Does anyone know where I can get this tutorial?
EDIT: nvm, looks like the tutorial from HeavenGames was all I needed. At first I was having trouble inserting keyframes and getting the movie to play, but now it's working nicely.

i found out how to do the movie cam all you have to to is go to options to camera i think and it says press insert but you can make it do something else i have it on enter
