first cohort recruitment

i think this was already discussed.
is it possible to recruit a first cohort in the grand campaign?

You can only recruit them in Rome, I am pretty sure.

Yes, you can only recruit them in Rome, which now makes me wonder why The Brutii faction in my parthian campaign can train first cohorts since they don't got Rome -.-'

Hi there.
1) Yes, one needs to control Rome to be able to recruit 1st Cohorts.
2) One can get 1st Cohorts as rewards for completing Senate missions.

i got rome and the highest barrack, the orange one, and still i cant recruit the first one. maybe i might have all the other buildings constructed?
which is the name of the file wich says which unit can be ercruitable in cities?

He said he has the 'Orange one' i.e Urban Barracks. Which are long after the reforms.

yep, the orange one means he already has the highest level of government building type built which means the reforms event already occured

one can still build an urban barracks without the "imperial palace" upgrade

the marian reforms trigger after some faction builds an "imperial palace"
(i'm not sure if it has to be roman or not or what other specific conditions need to be met) but an urban barracks less marian reforms give an extra exp to triarii or something like this

as far as the first cohort production- there have been some games where i am unable to recruit these for whatever reason (probably some kind of corrupted save/game or something) after gaining rome

i just dont know why, but have rome, 30000 population, all builldings constructed and i can recruit every unit but the first cohorts. does it appear the unit card like the custom battle?
