Yeah so I was wondering what everyones favorite musical scores for movies were. Some of my favourites include most of the ones by Hans Zimmer, the musical score for Das Boot, Band of Brothers, and Requiem for a Dream.

I have only one, and it is the Lord of the Rings soundtrack for Return of the King. It's really good with all the orchestra; Howard Shore is a great conductor! The songs have a different mood, and they change from serene to intense in perfect transition. The part where that Hobbit sings is the only one I am not so crazy about.![]()

I liked that part.
I enjoyed the soundtrack to all of the LotR movies, especially the first one. Though I loved all of them, the soundtrack to the first was so, great.
Yeah the first one is the best but the Rohan theme is just great.
Lord of the Ring, Brad Zimmers themes, Full metal jacket theme (painted black), Gladiator, The Godfather!! and probably many more... Can't remember any more right now... But one things certain, it is no movie if it hasn't got a good theme song... :p
Das Boot, funny music; music from 'Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Pulain'; entire soundtrack from 'the Life Aquatic'.Originally Posted by Evan_Kikla

apart from that soundtrack, I would like to name SW (duh ... Williams' music is the only thing which has remained constantly good throughout the whole series), any movie with a soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi (which means, mostly, a Kitano movie, or a Miyasaki one), Kusturica's movies soundtracks, and any soundtrack done by Sergio Leone.
Oh, and the opening music from Blade Runner
I love 3 songs off the soundtrack of 'Shaft'. The songs are:
1. Big Gipp - We servin'
2. Sleepy Brown, Big Rube and Backbone - Automatic
3. OutKast and UGK - Tough Guy
Band of Brothers, Lord of the Rings, War and Peace (Bondarchuk), The Godfather, Paths of Glory, Barry Lyndon...
James Horner, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer- they're all great!

If we can count game soundtracks - definitely the Neverhood soundtrack by Terry Scott Taylor. Otherwise, Fumio Hayasaka's Seven Samurai theme strikes me as extremely strong, along with Curtis Mayfield's Superfly soundtrack.
XXX (Feuer Frei), LoR Trilogy, Williams and his Star Wars compositions
Everyone is warhero, genius and millionaire in Internet, so don't be surprised that I'm not impressed.
Star Wars - Imperial March... It's awsome!

It is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful. The mix of traditional Japanese music and western music is done so flawlessly. It sets a perfect mood for every single scene.
LOVE IT.

I'll go with the flow and say LOTR in terms of ambience and sheer brilliance.
Best band produced theme songs for a film would either be the previously mentioned Paint it Black, or the End is the Beginning is the End (Guess the film and Band and you'll get. Stalin Cookies). It won a Grammy![]()
