    Default Cannot launch the game

hello everyone. I have not played Rome Total War in a long time. I came across RSII, and it looked interesting. I downloaded the mod, but every time I tried to to launch the game I get this error message "failed to initialise 3D audio". Now my O/S is Win7 64, I'm playing RTW 1.5. I'm not playing thru steam. My install path is C:\Program files(x86)\The creative assembly\RSII_Public. I choose on the launcher Parthia-RomeTW.exe. I hope this is enough information in order to get help

First of all - we recommend that you keep away from the 'c:\program files (x86)' folder as this folder is 'protected' by Windows Vista and 7. What happens is that your saves, replays and preferences get saved to the 'appdata' or 'virtual store' - run %appdata% in the 'find programs and files' folder. You can create a 'c:\games' folder or similar and install the game there (after you've installed R:TW).

We also suggest turning off or down the User Account Control.

The error you are getting is probably caused byt he mss32.dll file not being in the games folder. This file come with R:TW and is not part of RSII. If you had a 'working' copy of R:TW you would not have this problem. We don recommend that you install RSII on a 'working' version of R:TW.

The release thread has detailed instructions on how to install and includes screens of the various folders before and after the RSII install.
