Default How do you add new names and diplomacy question.

I am currently modding BI 1.6 to a campaign around the year 450 AD. I noticed that some important historical names are not in the descr_names folder, so I decided to add some into the appropriate factions. However, if I try to start the game with a name I added to descr_names, the game still crashes. I assume that there is another folder to be modified, could anyone tell me which one?

Also, I noticed at the bottom of descr_strat the diplomacy section is significantly larger in BI than in RTW. In the first part of diplomacy, can I just put the value "0" to mean alliance and "600" to mean war? Or do I need to do the at_war_with at the bottom instead? Or perhaps both?

Thanks in advance for any help given.

    In \bi\data\
there is a file called descr_names_lookup.txt
I think new names have to be added to this, also beware that duplicate names in this file also seemed to cause CTD.

sorry, just realised that was probably the one you were using are you also putting them into names.txt in bi\data\text?

No, 'descr_names_lookup.txt' is not necessary. You have a file 'data\text\names.txt' and you MUST enter in this file all names added in 'data\descr_names.txt'. This 'names.txt' is very sensitive (tabs, spaces...), the best is to copy and paste an existing entry, and put your new name on this copy. I have, with this system, 'real' names of roman families, and also 'barbarian' leaders.
