Cannot start Third Age

For some reason Third Age always crashes to desktop when i try to start it. Without an error message !
Ealier there where no problems and i was able to play it all the time.
I reinstalled it many times but the same error occurs all the time.
pls help !

There is no error log the game just ends and crashes to desktop

Same here, I get no error logs either.

I've got Win7 64bit since last time I played, so I tried a clean install to be on the safe side (both TATW and MTW2). Still the problem remains. It just cuts to desktop immediately - I only get to see the Minas Tirith screen with "Third Age 2.1" written across.

Then what happened is you both installed it wrong try reinstalling correctly by following my install instuctions here

Install Instuctions

then see if you have the same problem

I keep having the same problem aswell!

Both medieval and kingdoms work, though i have the gold edition; does that lead to problems?

I also carefully followed the installation guide mentioned above.

Since i bought a new copy of medieval2 gold edition i really want this to work.

Could anyone perhaps give me some advice on how to solve this problem?

If you have the german gold edition i could link you a guide. If not you´ll have to google kingdoms gold edition patch and probably a kingdoms.exe replacement. Because SEGA has deactivated their support site for this since 2 months. They wanted to reactivate it, but this already lasts too long...

I believe to already have installed the right patch for the gold edition; the 1.05 patch.
What you mean by a ''kingdoms.exe replacement' is a mystery to me..
Could you perhaps enlighten me on what i should be looking for?

Well Securom likes to make problems if you apply the gold patch. Because of that SEGA had a legal crack on their site. But this

ing site is down. And it´s illegal to post another crack

I´ve linked the german kingdoms.exe replacement from SEGA in this thread (And there´s also a quick guide in that thread regarding the installation of TA for gold editions.).

I don´t know if it also works for other gold editions. You could backup, replace and give it a try. Or inspect the mighty internet for another exe.

Obviously I tried reinstalling the mod, several times in fact.. I'm not some newbie than can't follow instructions. I always assume it's a 404 by default.

Like I said I can care less ...

Fix it yourself I'm done trying to be nice

I get tired of ppl coming on here asking for help and when we do give it they act like where trying to hurt them, well like I said Im done trying to be nice....

You dont understand how many ppl dont even install it right, this is why I gave the anwser so ...
