I don't tend to, unless I am writing for my AAR, that's when I alternate tabs to make sure everything's correct and such. (Like spelling my King's name.)

Don't do it myself, but I can imagine it's worthwhile with Stainless Steel, with the borderless mode and all, to tab out and go to TWC while waiting for the next turn. Is that unsophisticated?

perhaps somewhat, I'm talking more along the lines of uninterrupted access, possibly multiple monitors/computers etc.

yeah I think its good to check the forums often to see whats going on even while you're playing, there are some occasions when alt+tab is the right call
