Pink tint on campaign map ?

This is going to sound very, very strange. I know that, but still, hear me out.

So, I was modding RS2.1a for my personal enjoyment, tweaking the battlemap-engine mostly, and to my surprise, several things came out of my work.

First off, nothing crashed. The battle-maps work fine, every is just peaches & cream.

Except, strangely enough, the campaign map. For reasons that I shall never know, it has taken on a new strange colouration.

That doesnt make any sense. Ill explain.

The ground textures, water, even trees all look fine, first of all. I have this feeling that the map resources probably do too. Its just that every character model, city model, ship, watch tower, etc, all look died in a pinkish-redish salmony colour. It is *very* odd. Never before in all my years of RTW playing have i seen it.

At first I figured the obvious "well, thats what you get for messing with the game, stupid !" answer; that this was somehow some kind of sick karma or joke from the gods. But there has to be *something* I can do to fix this.

Have any of you ever heard of this kind of thing happening ? Ill keep tinkering to see if i can somehow fix it, because right now it looks as if all my diplomats are rocking some fabulous pink/salmony coloured robes. In a word, it kind of breaks my immersion.

I could reinstall, but that would be rather depressing. Id like to exhaust all other possibilities before that. (my reasoning: Id have to defrag again after reinstalling, and it takes forever and a day to do that).

Can you list pc specs, install path and (if possible) a list of all the files you changed?

On a personal note about the performance of my machine, i can easily say it can run Rome Total War. It can kick rome total war's ass, actually. It can run Crysis 1 with 2048/2048 (or something) texture replacements with high res custom shaders, and extensive system-heavy particle effects. Its been able to play just about every game on the market with decent performance, and in Roma Surrectum battles, it holds its own in engagements of around 10,000 men with little stuttering. Thanks in large part to the sage advice on these boards which i made sure to read and follow.

Not a flipping clue

All i can suggest is a reinstall, OR remove the files you've changed and replace them with the originals (assuming you still have the originals..)
Then one by one put back the file changes until it turns pink again. I cant think of it being anything permenant..

I have no idea. This is not my area of expertise. My knowledge falls into the category of software and hardware not that.

I actually researched on the internet and found nothing. I asked my friend who is a modder and he says most likely you changed some aspect of the game engine that controls color distribution. You need to make sure you didn't change anything that has to do with textures colors being presented by the game.

A bit late an answer I know, but I wonder whether you downloaded Megas Antiviros campaign map lighting changes - that had the same effect on my campaign map.
