Hello there, I'd just like to mention I have a bit of a headache as I type this so apologies if it's rather disorganised.
So what I'm looking for is some good quality, well written and possibly well illustrated books detailing the times of the Ancient Era (Rome: Total War really) So what I'd really like to read up on is the different campaigns people went on, the mockup of an army, the equipment, the strategy. To put it basically I want to read something that focuses more onto the military side of things, though bits of politics that are also important of course in history wouldn't go amiss. I hope you get the idea from that.
Also, this seems like a bit of a leap in time but again if there are any certain books that feature World War 2 in the same military style I would hope for Rome. Weaponry, types of infantry and all that such would be nice to see as well. I really enjoy both these eras for the weaponry but any other era I'm not interested in at all if I'm honest.
So yeah, I would like more emphasis onto the Ancient Era than onto World War 2, but at least it lets more people jump into the mix to give their opinions.
*Irrelevant*
I'm asking this because it is my sixteenth on the 17th of August and as I spend a lot of time on my computer gaming and such my parents seem to feel it fitting that they get me something that isn't PC related for what seems to be a rather 'important' birthdayThey want to give me something I could keep I think is what they're heading for and aside from a watch (Funnily enough I've never had one), some clothing and a few books I don't really find anything else appealing.
If you need any more information on what I'd be interested in, just tell me and I'll do my best to answer.
