Default When do the Marian Reforms come?

Hello, Im having a blast on my RTW Campaign atm. This is the first time I have been interested in a campaign for a long time using no cheats.

Im playing Terrae_Expugnande 3.0 and so far hav all of Italy and one province in sicily.

When do the Marian reforms usually come?

I also heard someone say they come whenever you build an imperial palace, What are the requirements for that building?

You need to have a population of 24,000 in a town then you can build an imperial palace

It's hard enough for me to remember my own opinions without remembering my reasons for them.

And the actual appearance of the Reforms is random, but to quicken their appearance you need an Imperial Palace in one of the Italian cities, and the above post has given you the prerequisite population for building one. Once you recieve the Legionary Units, however, you will most definitely not be disappointed by your wait.

I have (i would recommend downloading 3.1, fixes a siege CTD bug, your save game will still work), and even though they are my own Romans, they do look very good. You need to have an imperial palace, so stop recruiting in Rome and wait for it to hit 24000 and you should be able to build one.

Yeah i was wondering what was happening with the Siege CTD, kinda was pissing me off. 2 Sieges worked and 4 didnt so i jsut starved them out of it.

Your skins are great so far if you did the Pre-marians aswell. I cant wait for the Post Marius that i can see as the captains on the campaign map. Those captain skins are sick.

It really dpends, in my game, the Reform follows the difficulty I choose. The more harder level I choose, the later the reform is.

It is not dependent upon difficulty. I was under the impression that the reforms happened as soon as you built the palace, in 1.5...

Didn't realize it was in any way random in 1.5. The reforms always come ridiculously freaking early with the new patches. I think the latest I've seem them was 236 BC or so.

Too bad CA didn't make the reform trigger directly moddable. How difficult would it have been to add a switch for this, and allow the switch to be triggered by any condition that is already accessible?

So you've got the refomrs then, in 1.5 it is my understanding that the reforms will happen any time after you get the Imperial Palace, sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes you have to wait a few turns.

To me, they always happends immidiately in next turn, as long as it's one of the provinces flagged as italian. Now what province is "italian" in that mod I don't know.
I also know in original game that SPQR faction can't initiate reforms themself by building a palace.

the marian reforms happen when you build an imperial palace in certain cities. messana is one of them for sure. i think mediolanium or patavium is one of them. i think thermon or byzlora is one of them too.

You have to have more then three Imperial Palaces in order for Marian reforms to happen.

The question has been answered.... Imperial Palace in any Italian City, built by a Roman Faction. And this thread was over 2 years old, please don't dig up resolved threads...
