you cant modify core files. only mod files are allowed.
and how can I create modfiles so that I can, for excample, change campagin difficulty handicap effects table ?
modyfing game files is not safe. instead, open the main.pack with PFM, and extract tables you want to modify. Then create new mod.pack in PFM and add DB directory which you previously extracted. Save it and then you can modify the values in your new mod.pack.. its safe, game always overwrites main files with mod files.
ah, ok thx![]()
hm, just tried it. But somehow it does not work. When I try to add the pack file with the DBE nothing goes into thick letters:
here is the pack file:

just one advice guys, use latest PFM.. works everytime...
think that is not the problem. I have version 1.12 and DBE 1.8.
Perhaps someone could have a look at the file ? Or send me an other table of this file. It should modify the campaign difficulty stats. I am doing this the first time maybe I am doing wrong somehow ...
There is even newer PFM than 1.12.. check this:

don t get it. The file is newly extracted and packed with the new PFM. But the DBE doesn t recognize the file.
maybe I installed it wrong

nope, every editor saves the files in different format (or something like that) therefore it is best to open them in the editor in which pack was created.
now I tried to edit the files directly by the PFM and not the DBE. And all looks as it should work (see attacchment). But it doesn t get loaded in game and is not to see in the mod manager.
What is the type of pack? mod, release or movie? If you want to see it in mod manager, it must be mod type.
okay, changed it to mod. Now I can edit everyting and I see it even in the DBE. But it doesn t get applied in game. I put i t up an d down in Mod Manager. Prices should be x3.
not sure about those values thou, i believe it uses percentage and probably 100 is the max value and anything higher is being ignored... try adding smaller values and check the result.
Other possibility is that other mod is overwriting your settings, therefore the best would be to set your mod as movie and it will be always loaded last overwriting other mods.
hm. the numbers must work. I already tried that with editing other mods. When I change it to movie it disappears from the mod manager and also doesn t work in game.
are you sure you have the latest DB table used for that pack? happened to me when i used older version from pack2, but there was updated one in pack3....
I could do it in a different way. It s quite strange. I totally failed in creating that mod with the PFM. No matter what patchDB or version. Then I tried with the DB Editor. And ticked all mods I thought I use and changed the values there. And see ... it works.
Only that I absolutely can t imagine what could have overwritten my mod file ...
some of your mods used the same files...
