Rebel armies suddenly spawning out of nowhere.

Hey I just started a Byzantium campaign. And at turn 50 two castles and a city suddenly get besieged by rebels. Now I don't have a problem killing off these armies. However it can get very frustrating if they keep spawning throughout all my regions in rapid succession like these three.

I just want all the information you can give me about this because I couldn't find any threads concerning this problem. How frequently will these armies spawn? Will they spawn in every single region? I've seen little rebel lords before and killed them, are these guys starting out hidden in some forests? And if so can I use spies to see them or do I need to send soldiers out into an ambush?

I guess you're playing earlier version of SS, 6.1 or 6.2 IIRC. If so, these full stacks besieging your balkan settlements are scripted with Bulgarian (or Balkan, can't recall atm) Uprising event. There are 4 or 5 full stacks, each one lead by a certain general. Once you crush them you are safe. Only your balkan settlements are under threat (Scopia, Sofia, Adrianople and something else).

It's in 6.4 too. It happens on turn 50 only.

There might be a 4th crusade scripted around 1200 AD, that attacks constantinople, though I could be confusing it with broken crescent. Otherwise I don't think so
