MILK FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES!
MILK FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES!
Yeah, I saw that months ago.
It looks fun![]()
The action and cinematic views look good but, from what I can gather on the official website, the storyline and dialogues are as stale as ever.
On a sidenote, I thought Orcs had green blood, and where do those gallons of blood come from that keep obscuring the preview vids?
Amounts of blood that surpass any sense of reality is an aspect of 40K games that I hate with a vengeance.
"The only question that remained was whether the founders knew the final result of their creation, or if they themselves where the victims of a misunderstanding.
In the latter case it was the duty of any thinking human, to press himself into the front of this depraved movement, to perhaps still prevent the extreme, in the former case the founders of this peoples disease must have been true devils; for only in the brain of a monster - not of a human - could the plan for an organisation take meaningfull form, whose purpose must lead toward the end result of a collapse of human culture and thus to the desolation of the world.
In this case only battle remained as a means of final delivery, battle with any weapons that the human mind, intellect and will are able to comprehend, regardless, of whom fate would gift with it's blessing."
Well I have yet to see a computer game that is anywhere close to the lore.. CoW is to date actually the best one, and its fantasy. There are tons of crappy 40k games.. the Dawn of war series and II, horrible voice acting.. lame campaigns, lame Space marines. LAME BOLTERS. This is what I hate the most.. where are the BOLTERS!
@Scipio praeditus & Ekaddon
If you want stale dialogue watch the Ultramarines movie. In my opinion, it is worse than what I've seen from the Space Marine game.

The first DoW game+ its expansions are Epic! It really captures 40ks atmosphere. Horrible voice acting? Really...? The campaign was awesome and epic. Lame SMs? Hah.
Just because some games are not exactly like canon that doesnt mean their bad.
Oh and did I mention it has TONS of mods.
U played DoW40k: Firestorm over Kaurava? http://www.moddb.com/mods/dawn-of-wa...rm-over-kronus
I think I know the answer.

A quote from "Imperial Munitorum Manual" "The explosive rounds of bolters are of a much higher calibre than normal bullets and are sheathed in an armourpiercing tip with a mass-reactive detonator. Though fired at a relatively low velocity, the bolts own propellant soon accelerates the round once clear of the barrel. The mass-reactive detonator reacts to sudden increase in local mass and activates the explosive charge, litterary blowing the target apart from within."
Not ratatatatatata but BOOM BOOM BOOM.
And damn i stepped on a DoW tripwire.. While i have to admit in dow 1 the unit sounds (and in II too) are good, but the dialogue is lame and very very "captain obvious". There is total lack of the Xenophobia. To name some of the first missions in DoW II.. I was fighting a Warp Spider. The dialogue in short "Im a hunter" After he dies, "Oh my, we were only prey to him". It should begin and end with "DO NOT SUFFER THE ALIEN". And yes i admit i was wrong, DoW 1 is good (as in OK nothing special, i cant find anything better either at this time). But II...
It's nice to see Games Workshop are developing more games though, soon there may have a game with a stupidly high budget which will be amazing. I hope anyway...
With GW's financial logic, I wouldn't get my hopes up, mate. If people buy the PC games, then GW makes money, and tons of it, so why should they change anything? Sure, the game developers have no clue about the lore but neither does a lot of the 10-12 year olds who buy the games because of the "Oh look a space marine, how badass!"-effect.
What is it with does machine gun bolters anyway? how is that more cool looking than .75 calibre, selfpropelled explosive bolts? If I have to choose between spending 8+ rounds on putting down an ork (like in those PC games) and blowing his head clean off with one shot, I know what I would choose, and it wouldn't be the former.
In the 19th century, the British Navy attempted to dispel the superstition that Friday was an unlucky day to embark on a ship. The keel of a new ship was laid on a Friday; she was named HMS Friday, commanded by Captain Friday and finally went to sea on a Friday. Neither the ship nor her crew were ever heard of again.
And if you should be in doubt: this sig, like 95 % of all information on the internet, is false.
How about this:
A Warhammer 40,000 movie, directed by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner is my all-time favorite movie).
That would kick ass!
Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy.

a game about warhammer battle is lacking! I know there is mark of chaos for example but it's not as good as call of warhammer!
First game was amazing, especially with all of the expansions (9 races! OMG!!!). I also got the Tyranid mod, which made my day even better
The second Dawn of War game is ok. I miss the massive battles. I do like the Last Stand mode and the co-op campaign, though. Nice touches.
The third Dawn of War game, I've read, might be more along the lines of an RTSMMO, to which I say BOOOO!!!!! Don't ruin the DoW series, THQ and Relic. They're actually half-way decent games![]()
Dow Dark Crusade with Tyrranid, Steel Legion, Demonhunters and Sisters of Battle (the french one) mods combined into one. Pure epicness. Add DowPro as the cake iceing. Soulstorm suxxx major. Dow 2 and expansions is just meh-ish unless some modding comunity burst like in dark crusade times.
Space Mary-Anne can be a fun chop-chop game but one time use (unless they hide crap-load of secrets)
Im going to wait from some reviews before I pick up Space Marine. Dawn of War is awesome and one of my favorite RTS games ever, but this has so much potential to be hack and slash crap. Skyrim and Battlefield are so far the only games on my buy list for the rest of the year.
And just for ONCE can I get a Spacemarine shouting "FOR THE EMPORER!"
