So I've recently started playing HOI 3 again and decided to buy For The Motherland expansion. I downloaded it, everything is fine I click play nothing happens. The screen says "Launching Hearts of Iron 3" then nothing. Has this happened to anybody else or did I just loose 20 dollars

Have you got the steam version I assume and are on about the steam launching box? If so I can't really help you as I have the retail version, you're best to ask in the tech support section probably on the Paradox forums.

The only thing I can say is that the actual launching of the game even on my system (which has 8gb of RAM) can take up to 10 minutes time on the in-game launch screen. So maybe it's a case of wait for it and see what happens. Leave it for an hour, then you can be sure that there really is something wrong; you may find that it's just taking a long time due to it being the first time steam has ever launched it on your computer.

Well I went to the directory and clicked the installation, but I had to install .dll files but I managed to get it working. Thanks for the answer anyway
