    Roman families

    Overview
A Rather good balanced faction....though poor against cataphracts and chariots.

    Peasents.
Good Cannon Fodder but not good for anythign else.

    Town watch.
Also Useful Fodder units but again not good for much else....They are spears however so they may be able to wittle down a light cav before they die.

    Auxilia:
Not Really worth it honestly...Trairii Are far superior and not all that much more money.

    Hastati:
Good Cannon fodder since they are cheap can take punishment and have pila.Otherwise However they are not very good in melee except against spear units which they should be able to take out.

    Princepes:
Better.....though more expensive version of Hastati

    Trairii:
Best anti cav unit for Rome. However they get no defesive bonus's against cav so try to avoid cavalry charging into them.

    Early Legionary Cohort:
Think of these as really good Versions of hastati because these are not able to hold the line

    Legionary Cohort:
Good Unit Overall with pila, Good Armour, And Good attack...Beats Every non-roman Infantry in the game However they are hugely Vunerable to Cataphracts.

    Praetorian Cohort:
2nd best infantry unit in the game with Huge Pila Attack, Excellent Armor, and Great melee capabilities.
    Allergic To AP Units.

    Urban Cohort:
Best Infantry unit in the game hands down With Enourmas pila attack, Awesome Armour, And Absurd melee. These Guys are your main infatry.Unfortunatly they get slaughtered like pigs by cataphracts.

    Gladiators:
Not really worth it but if your feeling like something fun you could replace trairii with these

    Arcani:
Basically Useless but again if your feeling like something fun You can try them.

    Missiles and cavalry coming Soon!

Nice guide but I like how mine compares units
This would be awesome if you gave stragys for the faction
Crème tangerine and Montelimar,A ginger sling with a pineapple heart,A coffee dessert, yes, you know it's good news,But you have to have them all pulled out,After the Savoy truffle,Cool cherry cream, nice apple tart,I feel your taste all the time we're apart,Coconut fudge really blows down those blues,But you'll have to have them all pulled out,After the Savoy truffle,You might not feel it now,When the pain cuts through,You're going to know and how,The sweat is going to fill your head,When it becomes too muchYou'll shout aloud,You'll have to have them all pulled out,After the Savoy truffle,You know that what you eat you are,But what is sweet now turns so sour,We all know Ob-la-di-bla-da,But can you show me where you are?Crème tangerine and Montelimar,A ginger sling with a pineapple heart,A coffee dessert, yes, you know it's good news,But you'll have to have them all pulled out,After the Savoy truffleYes, you'll have to have them all pulled out,After the Savoy truffle. If I'm allowed to have some critique: there's a large overuse of capitals in your sentences (next to punctuation errors). Try correcting that, as it makes the whole thing a bit hard to read :

How are you going to bash the Hastati and Principles when they are the only infantry you can train in the beginning? They are great units and they work well, I've never had a problem with either of them... Town Watch are great for garrison duty. They are cheap to train and cheap to maintain.

Also, Arcani are good for ambushes and are fairly strong in their own right, so are Gladiators. The only real problem with them is that they take 2 turns to train, otherwise they are both great units to have....

Unfortunatley Dacder thinks himself to be a multiplayer pro and that everyone else should play multiplayer and not campaign. You're absolutely right in what you say, he just stole someone's idea because he thought he could do it better.

I'd hardly call this a unit guide tbh. You don't even post their stats or anything this is just "yeah this suck, but these guys are pretty good but these guys are better than them so you can't choose them sometimes" And agreed about your punctuation.

Also, go and post this in the multiplayer discussion. Seeing as someone has mistaken this for an actual y'know. UNIT GUIDE.

This was meant to be a multiplayer guide and atm I just want to get the basics done and then update to include stats etc...

And Unit guides in campiagn are worthless when you can heroic a stack with sacred band and sacred band cav with 20 numidian cav (ive done it mulltiple times

Many people don't know how to obtain heroic victories or what to get it with. Many people don't play MP. Many people think that since Companion Cav come later in the tech tree than Cataphracts they should be taken in preference. You can teach people things about the game without rubbishing everything about campaign.

I don't know how to get heroic, not really.... I know it's that you have to beat certain odds, but sometimes it seems like I should have gotten it and didn't and vice versa... At the very least there should be a victory for when you get a certain kill-death ratio.

No-one really understands how the whole calculation system of that works, as it's apparently hardcoded into the engine (modders have never been able to reach its parameters, at least).
