Default These are to all the pro modders

I would like to know where you learned to mod because ever since i have joined this awesome site, i have wanted to learn how to mod. So i have looked at the tutorials and they are abit confusing. Then i wondered that the tutorials must have been made by previous modders. Therefore they had learned from another source of information. Therefore it keeps going onto a loop of modders making tutorials for people to become modders.
    (I KNOW IT'S PROBABLY CONFUSING!! )

Then i thought perhaps modders on this website could create a small story of how they became administrations, or how they started to become modders ect.

Just a random thought that I wanted to share and get your opinion.

    Tutorials.

Learn simple changes first rather thinking of doing RTR, EB or TATW.

Depends on your ability. If you're good graphic wise and already familiar with the tools use (photoshop, 3dsmax whatsoever) you can start with simple stuff like changing skins color, replacing vanilla ones with new colors. Don't atemp to create new ones at first.

If graphic is not your high point maybe you can start with text base stuff, changing stats etc.

I would suggest learing with Rome engine as I believe it's the easier to mod. However do note that there are changes with each game engines so what you can do with RTW does not mean you can also do the same with M2TW and definitely you can't do with ETW and NTW for example.

Those who wrote the tutorials however are from different planet actually...

They only seem complicated because you have only looked and not tried, like everything you learn it's a lot in the beginning and you'll spend most of your time looking for what you did wrong.
But just reading the tutorials is like trying to learn how to write by looking at letters.

do more! read less! you'll get the hang of it in no time, just pick a file you want to learn how to mod and mod it.

Depends on what you want to mod.

Don't go straight to creating new units from scratch yourself.

You can start by adding existing units from one faction to the other.
