Default So many mods to pick from

For the past couple of weeks I've been thinking about installing Rome again.

It has been a good couple of years since I last played, but whats been stopping me is all the things I hate about the game.

    1. Too many Rebels, even when taxes are low, and trade is good.
    2. Settlements always revolt even with 20 town guard units.
    3. Settlements always revolt no matter what tax levels you set and you end up having daily events just to keep them down.

So I've been thinking of playing an easy campaign, but with very hard battles, but would mean the AI factions are weak and lack movement on the map, no good for me.

    ..............

There are so many mods out there that I don't know which one bests suits my needs, I don't want a mod that completly removes rebels or stops settlement revolts but one that is more balanced to the player, that allows you to concentrate on invading spain without thinking much about trouble at home.

You lot are more knowledgable about these matters than me, I very rarely play mods, infact the last mod i played with RTW was from what I remember called 'Realism' and that was some 6 years ago

This'll probably get merged anyway but head on over to the "Need mod recommendations?" thread. ask your question and you'll get a reply. It's in the stickied threads above here.

RSII - Less squalor, Free Peoples less irritating than rebels, 0-turn recruitment and cheap upkeep for cavalry means larger and better balanced AI armies. Plus it's easy as pie to install and the in game experience is breathtaking (graphics, skins, realism, campaign depth and immersion)

The name's misleading, as RSII is in no way biased towards Rome. It does include the fancier things of Roman history, yes, like civil wars and such, but it isn't focused on Rome alone
