Default General cannot travel by boat?

I just started playing the mod, getting a feel for things. And to try out those Chieftans (?) you can recruit with Germany I decided to see what they were like against some rebels by taking them up north to that abandoned settlement. But when trying to get him into the boat it triggered that bloody glitch in vanilla where two admirals refuse to merge, is this intended like they're meant to stay in their home territory? Which honestly, no offense, seems a bit cack.

P.S Not kissing up, but I really do enjoy your mod so far. From the installation to the actual game.

Local governors are meant to stay in town.
They can move a bit around but they are disabled from boarding ships to signify the fact that they are not supposed to be used on campaigns.

Fair enough, I won't judge. Just annoyed I got one now ;V Suppose I can send him on another mini-campaign to a local rebel settlement.
Thanks for the quick reply though.

Keep those in town and use your FM for conquest, that's what they are meant for

Suppose so, was just doing a quick run to test battles and such, not really thinking about it. Is it not possible at all to state in their description they are unable to travel by boat? It might help a few new people like myself realise that before spending a good bit of money on 'em ;V
Though I guess the description might be full already?

That could be easily done for a future patch.

I feel like a genius now. But again, great work by all the team on this mod. I really like what I'm seeing.
The installer is awsome too, I hate the whole "BACK UP YOUR DATA OR MAN YOU AIN'T EVER GUNNA PLAY THIS GAME AGAINNNNNN" but yours was easy to install, no faffing around at all. Much love

"Me? Ruin? I'm not the ruiner, I'm the ruinee! Or is it ruinness? Ruinette?"
"She's ahead of the litter all right. The pick of the litter. The cat's pajamas. Oh wait. Why would Applejack take some poor kitty's pj's? That's not very sporting of her."
"More balloons! No, that's too many balloons. More candy! No, less candy. Ooh! I know! Streamers!"
"Oh my gosh. Hold on to your hooves – I am just about to be brilliant!"

Ungotter: Make sure you read the guide to traits, it is a major part of the mod and you need to have good faction leaders (FL) to have a successful empire, make sure you choose faction heirs (FH) with high management skill over influence as economics are key to victory (remember one of the quotes in vanilla RTW was ..."They have an abundance of gold and silver, and these make war, like other things, go smoothly.") Get your economy working and you'll find your ability to fight easier.

Top tip to keeping FL good, spend all your your money every turn or least try and end every turn below 50000, even if that means stacking buildings/recruitment until the the next turn and undoing the build queues, spend that cash through all means including bribery, spy and assassinate every other turn, all these things will help keep your corruption down.

    Happy hunting

How does one change a faction heir or faction leader for that matter

Go to your faction Icon on the HUD. And then there should be a button on the left of the page called "Family Tree" or whatever. Click that and it views all your family members. From there you click the ones you want and you can select which to be a Faction Heir. You can't change your faction leader.
Beware though, doing this usually gives the person you remove of being a Faction Heir a disgrace trait or some sort of bad trait.

Not in XC, if you give it a few turns the former heir will not get negative traits, I give it about 5yrs before changing, unless in an emergency and so far all good Thanks to Suppanut/Zarax for that, genius!
