The King of Scots Abdicates


The King of Scotland has abdicated leaving his people leaderless. One can wonder what the consequences might be, since he had joined the Great war.

Who should they make their ruler, the English, who are their neighbors and also bound by blood, or the Irish, who are their people, linked by language and culture, or a King of foreign lands.

They ought to decide fast, or face the might of the Grand Coalition alone and helpless. Unless, their alliance can hold fast and steady.

England would like to claim Scotland. Our two nations are currently in a period of peace. Indeed we have even marched to their aid in recent years thanks to the treaty of Berwick and Edinburgh. On top of that, the previous Scottish King, James IV is closely linked by blood to the English monarchy (he was to become King of England in 1603), giving us a legitimate claim to the throne other than just a hunger for more land.


ooc: How's this work? Will the mods decide on who has the best claim, or will the land just become 'grey' and therefore free for all? This is where I wish we had navies in this game, so I could just shut off the coastline.

Edit: Can I also point out that had Scotland abdicated before the game had started, I still had 2 'free annexes' that I could have used on its territory, if that counts for anything.

If there are at least two claimers than it shall be decided be occupying those lands and fighting for them, I think

Except that when the annexing prior to the game started, the decision was based on who had the best claim, not who had the most troops nearby.

I also wondered whether because they had made an event out of it, something different might happen.

Edit: How will the rest of your alliance feel about you drawing a neutral nation into the war?

1) Navies without upkeep or 2) Navies with upkeep, would push the treasury into negative figures for many.

It would be like a show down of intimidation, if any has seen Discovery or Nat Geo. Like the lions do.

Okay, let's supposed I've a army in Scotland (well this isn't suppose ), England sends their army not to attack me but to hold other region, what would happen? Would those regions become occupied by us after a week?


Also if me and England start fighting for it can it toke ever or there's a time limit?
