Weird Vision

Okay, okay, it's 2011 and I'm still playing Medieval II. Anywho, last night I had a strange half-dream like vision.

I was thinking representable agents on the battlefield. Having a merchant or a diplomat near by actually participate in the battle. Where did this come from? No idea. Though I do recall bishops being able to ride onto the battle after the rout and break a few bones with their croix because they weren't allowed to shed blood.

But while I was thinking on that, I suddenly heard this: "Our foolish Merchant has thrown his life away, and perhaps our money with him."

Needless to say I almost died laughing. Anyway, just thought I'd share that.

Nice. The above poster says you have played too much Medieval 2 Total War. I think it's the opposite problem. You need to play more.

I always thought it would be awesome if the Priests / Imams etc could be attached to the army, and then 'bless' the men b4 battles - and then it gives a morale boost or other benefit to the army...depending on
A - the skill of the Agent
B - the papal favor standing of the enemy / if they are different religion

maybe if you have 1 priest you can bless 3 units, ... 2 = 6 ...
and a Bishop can bless 6 units and a Cardinal = the whole army

something along those lines...?

Most of the time when I'm doing crusade, or jihad I always bring priests along with the army just for my own role-playing amusement, not sure if it even does anything (but maybe increases that agent's piety)

Yes, also thought about that regarding priests. And then, if you happen to have an assasin attached to the army, you could actually command him on the battlefield, he would be dressed like a regular soldier (maybe even as an enemy soldier) and then assasin the enemy general/family member you face.

I can't remember exactly, but methinks there was a mod that had something along those lines.

On attack I see the battlefield prostitutes making the enemy run amok for fear of catching STIs.

They should also be able to raise our own troops morale by knocking out battlefield BJs.

Gawd knows why this kind of stuff never made it into the game.

Not much point spending the money building brothels without battlefield prostitutes. Grim stuff.

Priests on battlefield would be interesting. They could raise your armies' morale and the enemies would avoid killing him because if they did, they would instantly lose morale near his dead body.

Unless you were orthodox or muslim then you would have your morale raised because you slayed an infidel priest and showed that your god is stronger!!
