    Default Problem with steam games

I usually play lfd2 or cod2 on steam with quick load times and game play. about a week ago i was playing cod2 and the game froze. ever since then my games take forever to load and when i play i get sporadic 2-5 sec game freezes. lfd2 is impossible to play now. Everything was playing fine for years so i dont know what the hell happened. How can i get my pc stats?

Tried verifying game cache for those games?

    Tried updating steam?

Tried deleting the clienregistry.blob and let Steam rebuild it?

sounds like Direct X got borked id try a reinstall of windows then just install the latest drivers off the mobo website update windows and then get the newest gpu drivers for your gpu, and go from there.

currently have the same issues where Direct X was corrupted problem is windows update and DX updater dont replace the corrupted files, it sees there up to date and leaves them, a secondary install has 0 issues but its only on a 40gb partition so not really usable, eitherway

id try a reinstall of windows.

My slowpoke connection makes Steam too long to load. I can get into my insurance company's site faster.

depends if your on Windows 7 you can just install without formating and it moves all your data to a windows . old folder so all your other stuff will be located in there. even games etc, youll have to reinstall them but in theory you can install steam and drag the game data folder over and then just download it will see the files and should verify and be good to go.
