I Can See It But I Can't Touch It

I'm playing as England on vanilla version of gold m2tw with the fog of war turned off and having kicked the Scots butt and about to do the same to the French I've become aware of the Carribean and the Americas.I can see them but my ships can't sail there.Will I be able to get there after a certain historical date or will it always be a case of look but don't touch?

You need to wait for the "World is round!" event, this enables you to build carracks and cross the ocean. It should happen around 1400.

You can intiate the world is round event. It requires a ton of micromanaging. First, build a ship. Then, sail it as far as itll go. Then you have to sail it to the edge of darkness(turn fow on) Keep sailing to the edge of darkness and WAZHOO you just changed history.

(dunno if this works in kingdoms, but in worked in normal M2tw

I usually win by that time, and then get bored of having too much war.

Aye, The Americas is a nice touch but half the time its not worth bothering with as the games usually wrapped up by then.

I also seem to recall that the port of Arguin becomes 'reachable' about the same time.
