    Default [EVENTS] A Great War

    A Great War

A great war has began in Europe.
The belligerents, The Grand Coalition represented by Rifle Green, and the Hapsburg Containment Alliance in White.

Only Tyrone, England, and Venice remain neutral. Only time would tell.

Stay tuned for events, twists, and missions...

    The Parliament demands answer

In a session the English Parliament demanded answers from the King of England. The questions were mainly about,

    1) The War in Ireland. Was that a permanent solution? And most important, Was it worth it?

    2) Europe. Europe is ripe for war. The are profits and conquests to be made. England can no longer be silent. But then, Whose side shall we take?
    But of course,
    The side that wins.

    1) For nearly 10 years now England has been fighting the rebellion in Ireland. Many brave English soldiers have been lost, and to withdraw now would mean that their deaths were in vain, and would show a weakness that our foes would be sure to exploit. No, we must fight to regain land that is rightfully ours. Was not King Henry VIII declared King of Ireland by the Irish Parliament itself little more than 50 years ago, a declaration recognised by Pope Paul IV himself?

    2) Why should good English men risk their lives for causes that are not theirs? No, we must look to ourselves for protection, and build up a strong and mighty nation on our glorious island. If we are threatened, we will not hesitate to retaliate, but there are more pressing concerns nearer to home than those on mainland Europe.

Le Décret Saint au Roi de France

The clergy gather at Paris. They have a task for the King, a most holy task.

Too long has been the pope imprisoned in the Spanish fortress. It is now time to free His Eminence. The nobility of France brings the request to the King. They are in favor to claiming Rome. Perhaps, they would like to keep it for themselves.

The clergy have agreed to pool in their resources to present His Majesty 50 wealth points, should he complete the task, a consideration for his efforts.

    A Nation for Cossacks

The hetmans gather to the host where the army is stationed. They have a proposal for the Khan. We cossacks want a nation for the cossacks. We are ready to offer as a tribute to the Khan, one fifth of our loot, 20 wealth points.

Expand the borders for the cossacks.

Also, a Khan shall not bow to others. Become an Independent Khanate (Kingdom) for some extra tribute.

    A Dream of a Nation

The Irish clans have gathered to fight away the English from their homeland.
Their only goal, defeat the English and recapture the Irish lands.

Then the land shall be under one banner, The Kingdom of Ireland.

    A Letter to the Viceroy

Los saludos al Virrey de las Dos Sicilias,

News of the French tidings has reached the ears of the nobility. The French clergy has offered a reward for the conquest of Rome.

The nobility would like to assign you the task of holding Rome at all costs, and occupying the rest of Italy. The nobility offer a tribute of 30 Wealth points to the Royal Treasury as a considerations for their efforts.

To clarify: If I take Rome, I get 50 WP?

Yes, if you undertake this mission...

Would like to remind all gentlemen that these missions and events have Rewards as well as Penalties.

The world looks a lot more busy with these going on

Spain doesn't really own Rome, you know

Yes, but the mission stands, for both.

I would again like to tell that these missions have rewards for success, and penalties for ignoring (not trying and failing).

    NOTICE

Since all the people concerned have failed to respond to the mission, with the exception of England, the missions stand as failed. So no rewards or penalties (this time).

Since England successfully responded to the mission, they get
    +5 WP as reward.

    Updated in Wealth points.
