Free unzip software without ...

Is there any free zip software around that does not force me to install other unwanted software, bars, shortcuts and what not.

Like the 7zip, most are very intrusive and even put folders and files on the HD; their removal is often difficult (some are .dll files or associated to important Windows files and folders).

However, I need a simple free zip program for installing patches, etc.

Any suggestion?

Good luck finding one. I have both 7zip and the bought version of Winrar. They don't take up much disc space and the only overhead is when you use them as they are not in the Start menu in msconfig.

Anything else, think Google cloud, Steam cloud, Microsoft cloud, but I don't think zip utilities have made it there, yet.

7zip...is not very intrusive really...it installs to your hard drive but thats about it. From what I remember of when I installed it. 7Zip allows you to select what you want installed if I'm not mistaken.

I think it might have had an option to put a toolbar on there when I installed 7zip but I just said not to and it said okay. I have no idea why you wouldn't expect compression software to install onto your drive though.
