I will only mention mods allready released (including betas).

    Major Rome Total War Mods:
    - SPQR 6.0
    - Europa Barbarorum
    - Rome Total Realism (has own music)

Total Conversions (that is in my opinion any mod that does not have anything to do with the roman era):
    - The Fourth Age Total War (a Lord of the rings mod)
    - The Lord of the Rings Total War (has the Lord of the rings movies music)
    - Rise of persia
    - Troy Total War (Near completion)
    - Chivalry Total War

I haven't mention all mods, but check the sub-forums on the total war boards here for more information. (i think i just mentioned the major ones)

And last but not least i just have to mention Rome Total Gameplay, its near completion and focuses more on gameplay. (check my sig  )

Sorry about my slow response i had to go visit my family. But i'm 15 and usually prefer building the Empire on the map while i only battle when things are desperate or even but i need the victory. I like a bit of realism but not so much it spoils the gameplay. As for the total conversions i doubt i will play them(though they don't sound to bad) thank you for the list Cha0sMarin3 but i think i need some more details. Any more adivice will be apreciated just as much

Just go to the mod section and you can choose which mod you prefer. Just remember that there are some are in beta stages and some are not finished yet.

But for mod which is not total conversion, I suggest RTW/BI Enchancement pack from Borsook. It stays the same as vanilla RTW/BI , only unlock many things which hasn't been released by CA like factions , units etc.

On the site it says it were made for RTW 1.3 / BI 1.4 but I installed on top of 1.5/1.6 and have got no problem runnning whatsoever.

Well if you like the vanilla feel and don't want to go to a total conversion I recomment Darth's Mod. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=46206

In his mod he uses the vanilla map, and the overall mod has a vanilla feel but he has improved the battles and are very enjoyable and challenging. He focuses more on gameplay than historic realism so you will like it.

Also the new Terra Expundiae 3.1 (sp?)http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=46732 sounds like it will fit your gameplay style. It uses a larger map and it is not a huge total conversion like SPQR, RTR and EB. It is very well balanced for good battles and campaign strategy.

The bonus for the above mods is that they are based on RTW 1.5 version which is much better than the old versions.

    Hope this helps a bit.

Well then EB and RTR are the two mods that offer the most historical accuracy, but both are for 1.2. If, like me, you have 1.5, then my mod probably offfers a little bit more historical accuracy, but if you wait a bit EB and RTR are both porting to 1.5.

I've finally got the 1.5 patch to install (thanks to lusted help in This link) And I am now looking for a mod that suits me. I am 18 years old, the part of RTW I like most is the battles. Any ideas?

SPQR. While RTR and EB are about campaign and as well as battles, SPQR is high on making combat (And through that, campaigns) difficult, with experienced and well armed armies.
