    Default Blu ray players

My family bought a Samsung BD-C6500 blu-ray player some months ago but we haven't set it up.

My question is should we go ahead and set it up, or return it if we can and get another?

And, is this a good blu-ray player? (they bought it without me doing any research)

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yea, set it up. Its a good Blu-Ray player in its price range. The specs are ok, but there are better ones (higher price) of course. Remember you're not benefiting from the BR player if you dont have an hd tv.

Ah well we just got a new hd tv so we should be good

I did a little more quick-research and this model does seem fine. I understand there is a newer model, but the only thing new I know of is 3D, which we will not be doing.

I will set it up. Thanks

Samsung has made some bad bluray players in the past, although this particular model is more reliable the loading and command response times are very poor when compared to other bluray players, it has great image quality I've heard and that's the most important thing really.

I've used Panasonic, LG, and the PS3 as bluray players myself and have always steered clear of Samsung for various reasons depending on the model, but at any rate this particular one should serve you well, just pray you never have to get the thing fixed under "warranty".
