Hi,
Downloaded and installed the fix. Playing as the Greeks in Italy (sorry, forgot the Name) CTD when I attack a brigante army a few turns into the campaign. Skirmishing is OK, but CTD as the troops collide, just like in the original Beta.

That faction would be Taras. Could you tell me which units collided when the CTD occurred? I'll look into it then, and we'll fix it in a while. I tried the battle again, then delayed a turn and tried once more, and used Tara in some custom games. All CTD. I really can't tell for sure, but it might be related to Taras' cavalry.Originally Posted by Nero666

Actually, I have a little time on my hands while the wife gets ready to go out...
I think it's the heavy Taras cavalry. In desc.model battle they have spear and sword animations. Changed spear to javelin, and everything seems to be OK. I guess it was CTD as they attempted to throw javelins before contact with the enemy.

Yes the Taras cavalry will be fixed in the next patch. They indeed were the problem, tested it here too.
The Family Member Bodyguards haven't been touched at all yet, they're all vanilla still. Even Pandya has egyptian generals, so don't worry, we'll do them once we get to it.

Found another problem. Attacking a Baktrian controlled town. The enemy general was mounted on an elephant. CTD at battle loading screen. data/rop/models_unit/textures/unit_indian_elephant_crew.tga not found (or something like that). I went to the appropriate folder and found the tga. It had the ROP prefix. Deleted the ROP, reloaded game and everything went well (or as well as it can when you have to take a town center from several dozen armored elephants).

Oops. I know what was wrong. I didn't assign the texture for the elephant crew to the pontic faction slot, which is used by baktria. The name you typed is the texture assigned to the model within the .CAS file itself (when you load a model in 3ds, this is the name the texture should have to be loaded). In the next patch, we'll assign it properly. You could do it yourself too, if you can. Add the texture and model_sprite lines into the rop_pandya_elephant_crew entry.

Playing Persia campaign,
suddenly spot Alexandria on India border become my with infantry regiments in it (Persian).
During some next turns one region in Germany and another in Arabia too.

I dont know whether this has come up but my game closes after the rise of persia logo comes up.
I have installed on a fresh rtw v1.2 and i have the beta patch and the hotfix.

This isn't normal behaviour, as you probably know. Could you enable -show_err for the ROP shortcut? Check this tutorial on how to do this:

Yup that's the old version of export_descr_buildings.txt. If I'm correct, the new version is present in the patch 1.11. Let me check.

Nope it's not present in the hotfix, as far as I can see. You should redownload the full beta to fix this problem.

when i try to open rise of pesia, i get that blue screen sayin "rise of persia" and then i get this weird message.
it says
"ERROR: File name doesn't exist: éÖã?"
wot the hell duz that mean!
