    Default A new Rome Total War

    For those of us who have been playing the game since the very beginning my question to all is how would you create a New Rome Total War. this thread is meant to be a one response per person maybe more if you're the creative type here:
    1. I would mmake a unit of Bull runners available from one of the SPanish cities. With deadly horns and difficult to control, these bulls chase their owners until the owners sacrifice themselves on the enemy pikes, thus enraging the bulls even more into a smash frenzy, a moral breaker and wall smasher. ON a personal note, I do not condone the killing of the bulls. Bull jumping is waay more ok.

    id make a new engine, with random unit creator with very expaned resources, blood, en removeable limbs. sick i know

    you mean the ability to create your own units easily?
    holy that would be so awesome,maybe they could also have a map/civ creator :awesome:

    have the units have a more "used" look,scratches on their shields,holes on their clothes etc...

    give more depth to the other civs

    have more generic citys,and have "special citys"ex:certain towns could have more defences/be bigger than the others(ROME!)

    have a different recruitment system,in RTW i only used hastati because when the Triarii/principes came i had already conquered everything around the towns that could hire it

    dont make the soldiers look like they wash their clothes in paint >>

    make the AI much smarter,am tired of building defences on my inner citys hoping that someday the AI will get to them

    make the resources have a much bigger influence,if you'd conquer a city that has ton of resources than make it possible for the city to be a really big money maker to the point where some can actually pay for a full stack(i really just want to have a sucessful one city faction game )

    make the map bigger

    stop the romans from conquering everything so easily,i like how in med 2 the monstrously large faction isnt always the same

    local units available to hire

    There is a map creator.
    I would say:
    -Better AI.
    -More units & buildings.
    -Bigger map.
    -No overpowered Romans.

    Keep the game pretty much the same, but add a bunch of stuff from the other total war games, like in medevil were u could capture routing people and either sell or kill them, and a much more improved AI system.

    Have the devs take good long looks at the forums dedicated to the more popular mods and look for the modders answering a request for changes with "sorry, the engine won't do that" or "sorry, that bug is in the RTW engine, nothing we can do about that."

    Fix those.

    That'd be a good starting place.

    Improve diplomacy AI, add more factions and do not use the new engine theyve been using, i hate it

    RSII with improved AI and fight animation would be literally perfect.

    some sugestions

    huge battlefields to manoeuvre before a battle
    a facture to look at the battle map before there is a battle
    so you won’t battle uphill every time

    pursuing ha's while running in a square is boring.. do someting about that, make them lure you

    unit training to keep them fit or to learn special abilities (like swimming)or improve range of pilla stamina ect.
    Training more cohorts per turn witch better barracks, unlock elite unit’s earlier but on small scale
    limit on retraining it is overpowered witch 1 turn recruitment to small witch 0 turn, balance it

    better group formations, they are very poor

    impossible to kill a faction, possibility to absorb them over time if you’re not nice and strong enough they will rebel on huge scale (like the gauls did when they were united)

    if i could make a new rome total war i wouldnt i would just go on to a better period in history cuz rome is overdone
