    Default FRoME, MOS, and PCP

After searching the threads and doing some research, I found these three to be professional and quality work.

Since I'm tired of waiting and want to just play 2.1, I'm wondering which of the three is either most uptodate, most compatible, most complete, or most comprehensive of the submods.

I know FRoME adds factions, MOS many small submods, and PCP more creatures. I also know they are not compatible. So if I had to chose one, what would you guys recommend from experience? I could install one at a time and try for myself, but the features are too many and I don't have so much time. So hope you guys can help.

I know that you can have MOS and FROME installed at the same time, since the mos folder will be named Third_Age_SP and the Frome is Third_Age_Frome.
But I prefer to use MOS as it adds more than FROME, in my opinion

Yes but that's installed separately rather then a combined mod of the two. I'd go with MOS but having said that i've never really used FRoME.
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.

Mos adds something for all factions, some units, some scripts, some balance. It is somewhat an update and expansion of vanilla 2.1, for hardcore gamers. Frome focuses on the faction it adds, so it is a different game in some ways. I personally play MOS

Thanks guys, I'm gonna go ahead and try MOS. Installation seems quite complicated though...

Watch, now that I've finally gave in the redownloaded 2.1, KK's gonna release like 3 days later. July 22nd is the release aniversary of TATW 2.0. Oh just watch if he releases that day I'll have had less than 3 days to enjoy MOS

FRoME with the expanded map mod is excellent if you want to play one of the modified factions. MOS is a more comprehensive and more fun in general mod, especially if you include the MOS expansion project (which you should if you play MOS). If MOS (current version) worked with expanded map mod, it would hands down be a winner as it's incorporating features from FRoME now too. I <3 the expanded map.

First and foremost, respect to all those working on these submods, your work is brilliant and greatly appreciated!
    Secondly, save after every turn!

I was in your exact same position a week ago. I played TATW to death a year ago and was now looking to jump back in with something fresh (sub-mods).

As you've already begun, my comments here are just to share my experience.

I first tried MOS, then Baron Samedi's Gameplay mod, and currently on FROME.

    (1) Playing MOS: Not sure what the issue is with the installation, really doesn't seem all that complicated to me. This is like my "dream" submod, I love all the scripting. So cool! played High Elves, quit the game around turn 45 because of too many ctd's. I started the mod after a clean install of TATW then 2.1. And even did clean installs mid game (save for the save file), and continued playing. The crashing just seemed too much and I gave up on the game after being forced to replay a 25 minute siege.

    (2) Baron Samedi's. Played High Elves quit around turn 45, I think. Experienced far less ctd's but the whole map stayed permanently visible (bug?) after I looked into the Palantir which made for very very long turns. I also was unable to stop the Elves from leaving even after fulfilling the requirements in the chancellery (Or so I believe, as I had all the required territory)

    (3) Playing FROME: Dwarves, on turn 89 ish. Had only one crash thus far. And truly felt random in nature. Feels polished, but then again, isn't incorporating a ton of submods.

Again, all great mods , ctd's just seem to be the nature of the beast or the nature of my beast...?

I like frome because MOS takes way too long to do anything and I always get ctds with it

I used to get CTDs, every 7 turns, then every 20 turns, but now with the last DL I have very few:
In my last campaign where I'm Turn 220, I must have had 4 CTDs total I was able to easily recover.
You must be very carefull in your installation of MOS (instuctions done by Minas Moth):

I very rarely get a CTD with MOS... Never tried FroME. MOS is going to give you a more polished expanded TATW. FroME is going to leave everything untouched and add new settlements and factions. I personally use MOS, I don't get hardly any CTDs actually. I know MOS will be getting a BIG update soon just so you know. It depends on what you want from a sub-mod as to which one to choose.

Yeah they are more spectacular. Around MOS 10.0 they will cause your PC to burst into flames .

Personally I will use MOS as it uses my new gondor units.

Hi Taro_M, speaking of your Gondor Units, is there a way to change the unit card after you get the armor upgrade so they are shown with plates instead of I guess the black chainmail? But yeah aside from this everything else is awesome!

i tried PCP today and its great, and it doesnt add just creatures,it also adds all the factions added by FROME and more(like the vail of anduin, balcoth clan etc),but theyre currently not as good as the FROME ones since its just beta(no unit pics and such make battles a bit confusing ) so i recommend that mod
