causes of artifacting

hey guys. ive finaly got round to MRA'ing my graphics card, and im waiting for it to be delivered. anyway, im just wondering what causes artifacting other than a bad GPU, just incase thats not it. all i know for certainty is that the RAM is fine. is there a way of checking whats causing the artifacting before i return it? thanks

edit: the only problem is the artifacting is quite rare. so i cant tell on start-up if its fixed.

It's most likley the card, never heard of anything else causing graphics artifacting.

Try underclocking the card's ram.
