Default 3 Kingdoms and the Sengoku Jidai era

I play a lot of games like these, Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and such, and was always excited.

I was wondering of theres any movies with the theme of either the Sengoku Jidai era or Romance of the 3 Kingdoms(If thats the name).

I prefer the movie to have a good ending, a good plot, some big battles with soldiers and such, and some romance would be nice(if any).

So.. yeah, im in a movie-searching spree, i need to quench my thirst.

Well, a few years ago Chinese director John Woo made a two part film called Red Cliff, though I will tell you its all in Chinese. There's also an English version but its much shorter/more condensed, so I would recommend finding the Chinese version and watching with subtitles. I don't know any Mandarin at all and that's how I watched it, its an incredible movie. And if that's not enough for you, you could always throw yourself into the book the games were based on, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

    Read the book.

For better than that butcher John Woo nonsense.

I think there was also a television series/mini-series developed in China on the matter, and is supposedly the most faithful to the book. It might be difficult to find though.

    CCTV did it the original.

And it is next to impossible to get.

There is also a newer remake which is also impossible to get.

Ya, I just checked on Amazon and the only sets selling don't look legitimate.

In Japan it is common to see TV series based on old Japan, which it has a common name called "taiga drama" (most are done by NHK).

    Read Ravages of time. http://www.mangafox.com/manga/the_ravages_of_time/

Think Songs of ice and fire with Dynasty Warrior. Plus it gives you the best reason why you should NEVER pursure Lu Bu.

Also the author knows his share of chinese history. Its a great way to learn new proverbs and chinese culture as well.
