The religion at the time (before the Catholic/Orthodox split) will be described as "Chalcedonian Orthodoxy".

Did you guys coin that term yourself ( ive never seen it) , either way that is brilliant, Refering to the council of chalcedon (451 ad, am i right?) like that. To mod, a basic knowledge of history is needed, but for this period the sources are so much scarcer, and i think i will be amazing at how well it turns out. I always thought this period would be perfect to do a game on because of all the crucial events in so little time with little evidence in a time of turbelence leaves one with many questions. It's the perfect Total War, CA should of done over a new stw2 expansion, but I actually think the East of Rome modders can do a better job!

It was the same religion back then. And for a long, long time after.

I thank you, East of Rome team to make a mod of a very interesting period in history!

And one thing i love from rome : total war is the ability to switch religion by building religious building and slowly converting the family member to specific religion.
I want to ask, will we be able to switch religion in this mod? if it possible, how will it work?

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your interest, Deus_Vult!

Indeed it will be possible for every faction to change its religion. I will explain how this works in a future preview

Will there be religious agents that spread the state religion? I hope so!!! Does this mean that if you switch from Christianity to Paganism, the model will change from a Christian priest to a Greco-Roman ephor looking priest? That would be so awesome I hope we still have the religious agent function!!!

Not exactly true. There is Ages of Darkness II.

So we are the only mod for Medieval II to cover this period.
