    Default Taoist of TWC

Ok we got other religions so why not a Taoist one?

Anyways, The great Taoist question of the day(actually till its been answered to many times question).

If the way things are going would bring an end to life should we accept it, or try to change it, to safe the way of life.(think end of the earth here).

Moot. Nothing humans can do will end all life on earth. Notice that before life orginally the planet was pretty damn inhospitable - yet life was there when it cooled down.

A nuclear winter, some kind of freak gloabl warming (think Day After Tommorrow), anything like that would not end life. It would merely end the reign of humanity. We would die, but the planet can and will outlast anything we can do. Life, be it a blade of grass, a snail, or an elephant, would "find a way." (Jurassic Park)

If the question is should we try to stop humanity's destruction - we should. Sure we're all dead anyway but I prefer not to go out with a bang (pun intended ). I would say even if someone doesn't care about his life, he should care about other people who might want to live. So we should try and stop Iran, deal with N. Korea, etc. As much as we can.

Al'Thor was that from a Taoist point of view, because that was the point of the quesiton, otherwise we would be going off-topic

    Mudd,
Taoism is a philosphy/spirituality(turned into a religion by infadels ), thats basic tenet is action through non action. Opposed to Confucism where humans must be strictly ordered by laws, Taoism teaches that were are to follow the divine order of things, like nature.

So basically live in harmony with everything without doing anything to harm the natural balance of life?

Oh. I thought we could comment on a Taoist question from our point of view.

Because if we are forced to adapt a view that is not our own, you would know the answer before we said anything.

If I am not a Taoist, I don't know why I should pretend to think like one. (Plus I don't know what the Taoist point of view really is so it's hard to comment lol )

But in that case we would still act, because mankind building nukes etc. is not the natural order of things. It's artificial, something humans have created and not nature.

Kinda. See Tao means way, so it is your job to follow the way.

It was a rather common question and I was trying to get Taoist response, but dont worry your fine.

I kinda get it now, Either way my response is the same.

We would still act, because mankind building nukes etc. is not the natural order of things. It's artificial, something humans have created and not nature.

BTW anything that mankind makes is not necessarily natural/a product of nature. If your kid grows up to be a famous artist and paints something like the Mona Lisa, it is not your piece of work. It's his. Same as how nukes and stuff are not natural - they are artificial.

Is that the right point of view?

How exactly did you get to know "the way things are going", in this example?
