    Default Venice on Island and other mods

    Hey guys,

    i havent played MTW II for some years. Now i want to try a new campaign with venice. Therefore i m looking for a mod, that puts venice on an island. Do you know if something like this exists?

    Additionally i would like to ask you to recommend your favourite mods to me, as there are so many huge modifications out there and im not having the time to test them all.

    I want to add, that i want to play the whole campaign, so im not interested in mods like "La Guerre de Cent Ans - The Hundred Years War", all in all i m looking for a mod, that expands the game (map, towns, factions) but doesn't restrict the main campaign at all.

    I hope i put this in the proper sub-forum, because i find that this doesn't fit neither to Released Mods nor to Wips, Ideas, and Proposals.

    I found Broken Crescent excellent if unstable at times.

    Stainless Steel is fantastic but the turn times are very long with older computers, later in the game I have timed the AI turn to take over 10 minutes.

    I saw Broken Crescent, but if im in the know, this focuses on Middle East and not on Europe?

    Anyway i find this very interesting, so i decided to play it as my second campaign.

    Ah well, i should mention that i don't have the kingdoms expansion

    Do you know such a mod, that venice is placed on a island, as i want to play my first campaign with venice.

    How about moving your capital to crete and selling all your cities to other factions so you only have crete. That way, you have venice on an island!

    What do you mean by "puts venice on an island"? The city itself is on an island in vanilla already.

    Yeah that's true. The city is guarded by a river crossing and is pretty much unassailable from land because of that.

    oh yes, that bloody city is on an island. every time that i fought for Venice, i always had battles on bridges.

    Like you I haven't Kingdoms but Stainless Steel 4.1 doesn't need it. The Long Road is good but it is slower paced. As you wanted to play Venice you should have alook at the faction in that...no Venice on an island though.

    Stainless steel's venice is somewhat more of an island. Although it's still connected by a bridge, the city's port is also on the island.

    venice, as i knew it, when i played MTW 2 the last time, was actually not on an island, but guarded by a river, so that i only had to defend a bridge.

    anyway milan has strong armies and i would prefer to defend my capital by my navy. do you mean, that there is a mod, that puts venice away from the mainland on an own island?

    ah, i didnt know this, thank you for this tip. maybe im going to try stainless steal then. what do you mean? i m in holiday right now, so i cant start the game, i have only seen the map, where the faction venice is shown?

    can i block this bridge with my navy, so that the city is secure against attacks of land forces?

    well, this is, why i am looking for such a mod do you know these green spots, where navy and landforces can pass? this would be perfect.

    If you open up your base campaign map and change the bridge to a green arrow it would be on an Island. But I cannot answer any how-to questions as I am not a mapper so you will have to find someone else more skilled than I in this category.
