Don't now If this is the right place to post.

But since I couldn't find any other threads looking something like this I would like to share my newest little project.

I have for a long time tried the whole diplomacy deal, it never works, so I decided to play a campaign on Very Hard where I tried to control all of the countries, decide who should fight who, who should do what, and who should own what.

That requires a lot of money and provinces all around the world. So I have tried to keep every nation alive while I take the islands around the world and the provinces I see fit for my goal.

I want to share my progress so far.



It is all pretty messed up right now, Portugal had almost anihalated spain and the moors and declared me war, so right now I'm given back the lands to Spain and moors, and then I have to distrubute the cities a bit diffrently.

In Italy the sicilians is dominating which is not good, I think i'm gonna take back Milan to the milaneese.

Central europe France and the Danish are too big so I later on I would have to give some of their lands back to the HRE.

Southern Europe is pretty stable although the Byzantines is expanding towards Venice which I have to stop.

The middle east is pretty ed as always. the Mongols invaded took out all of Egypt, I was able to get down there in time and give Rhodes to Egypt which is now their last territory I am triyng to counqour a big amount of the egyptians territories and give them back to Egypt.

The turks are almost extinct So I will have to help them against the turks or maybe give them arguin (in west africa)

Thats pretty much the situation right now.

oh yeah and by the way I wasn't able to save Poland, and I never really did like the scots

The blacks to the east are the timruids once they show up.





Have any of you tried this, then I would like to hear which nations you like to choose and what you do

You´re in for a royal headache if you actually want to design how the worlds´ borders will look...
No matter what you do, there is no telling if the AI will do as you want.

Maybe you should rather try to be at war with as many as possible - that would make it more likely that the AI factions will unite, and less likely that they will start conquering each other.
But still, it´s a borderline crazy idea, IMO

Cheats, Cheats, Cheats, and did I mention Cheats? With cheats you can do this easily.

give up while you can. multiple times i tried something similar, but with allies. my plan was to have the entire map controlled by me and two allies. go figure, one ally (spain) started to die. i offered them cities. they said no, because they couldn't trust me. i had never gone back on my word once in the game (my reputation was reliable). I offered them money, it didn't make a difference. i allowed cities on our border to rebel so they would have some easy targets, they didn't bite. in the en they started a war with me, and were annihlated by another faction.

in another campaign i helped out ally hungary by whiping out nearly every enemy on their borders, and giving them the cities. i killed every byzantian (we were at war) settlement except for one, which was surrounded by hungarian provinces. i offered tens of thousands of gold to hungary to attack that last byzantian city. i weakened it catastrophically, so that it had only 3 or so units defending it. hungary refused. it was ridiculous.

without cheats (and i don't know about with cheats) playing the puppet master is nigh impossible. factions just don't cooperate

what you should do is give each faction 1 island and then take the whole of mainland Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Not sure if there are enough islands though.
