Hey there, first post here so please bear with me if I do stuff wrong: I have installed tLK over patched Kingdoms Gold and had no problems running it at the beginning. It's probably the most beautiful mod I've played so far. (It's more attractively designed than Europa Barbarorum, my former favourite.)

There have been two problems, one a gameplay question (and not why I am posting), the other a stability issue:

    1) I seem unable to build barracks in conquered regions that had not had them (playing Hordaland). Which other buildings or factors are required in the provincial build-up to recruit infantry? (Colony, Vassal, or simply Village Council etc.?) I simply haven't found out yet and just tried by building certain structures that I hoped would let me progress in the right direction.

    2) Big problem: I've played quite some time before it happened, maybe 20 or so turns, and finally got rid of my Norse rival, occupying their last settlement. The very next End Turn action invariably leads to a CTD, no matter what I do with the rest of the turn. I've created a log file (as specified at the beginning of this thread), which I've attached here. There seem to be a lot of "missing" tags, but I must honestly say I have hardly any idea what to make of the log. Could anybody help me and tell me if my install is faulty?

PS: The path used by my computer is a bit more complicated than the ones I normally see here (Windows 7 machine), namely C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War. As far as I can tell, my files are all in there.

There is a problem with the historic_event file: it has a typo in the description of the Harfsfjord battle. Extract the attachment into the data\text folder of the mod.

You will need to change the log to trace, see here. Also check if extracting the attachment into the data\text folder of the mod helps.

Have you built the higher barracks?

The question is not why is infantry so strong, but why are archers so powerful. Poor balance. Try my submod (or at least the EDU and maybe the EDB as well).

I don't know, but you can try integrating Germanicu5's latest battle AI. I intend to do so when I get around to it.

No, you're supposed to post here.

Your problem sounds like the well-known "turn 18 Hordaland crash". Did you install the 3.06 patch?

Did you build the necessary buildings from the Armourer line? http://www.twcenter.net/forums/attac...9&d=1313705817

I have installed the patch and deleted all my savegames. In a very hurried run through 18 turns over the last hour, I've had it again. Is there any way to avoid that? (What I mean is: should the patch have fixed it?)

As for recruitment, I was in such a hurry slashing left and right this time, I didn't even check.

Yes, the patch should have fixed it. You should post your log.

Got an issue. Been playing this mod off and on, and around turn 80 i realized i have no banners at all. So i jumped on other mods i have(SS/C:SV/tatw) and they all have banners. Did my torrent miss a file or something? I thought they were all 100% and i have had zero issues other than this with the mod.

In the medieval2.preference CONFIG file, in the [video] section you can find this line

    show_banners = 1

    Is yours set to 0?

This is usually an issue with the CFG file, either from the mod or elsewhere. To assure the display of banners, just open the mod's CFG file with Notepad and enter this line in the [video] section: show_banners = 1

Not sure if it is a bug or an omission in scripting.

Playing as Horderland I had a 'Game Over' message when King Eiric died of old age prior to me dealing with Vestfold.
This was despite having a few heirs to continue the war.

There is the faint possibility that Vestfold had fulfilled all conditions for a merge and was just waiting for the king of Hordaland to die. My bad most likely - I might have forgotten to add a test condition to the script that this doesn't happen to the player.

I thought it might be a scripting error, because I hadn't lost any territory to Vestfold, in fact I held 2 or 3 of theirs.

On a restart I focussed more on the four designated settlements for Norwegian Unification.
This time, when Eiric died I held most of those settlements & the game continued fine.

Whilst playing as Horderland conditions include the taking of the Vestfold Capital Skiringssair, I suspect the conditions for Vestfold to attain the unification as an AI faction do not include Horderland's Capital Alrekstadir?

Horda and Vestfold have the same conditions for unification - those four settlements and the death of the opposing king (natural, in battle or assassinated).

Alrekstadir should be a requirement for Vestfold to acheive unification I would have thought as it is a major rival Jarls Capitol?

That would have prevented the odd 'Game Over' I got.

I spotted a small typo in 'The Last Jarl Stands In Defiance' event message.
It refers to Borgund being held, as well as the four detailed.
Victory requirements from an earlier build?

Another in 'The Kingdom of Norway' event.

    Corrections in brackets:

'The few remaining Jarls allie(d) to Hordaland (Vestfold) have their backs to the wall......'
