    HURUAH! We've got it!!!

It was the MTW VirtualStore issue. By changing the security tab settings under the properties for MTW2 and then deleting the Virtualstore folder for MTW (in Appdata), the problem was solved!

Anyone who is having CTDs when immediately starting a campaign or launching custom battle should try this procedure first:

    Thanks to everyone!!!

Now please excuse me, but I have some raiding and pillaging to do!

I found a weird recurring bug. When playing as Normans, and Magyars take Munster as their capital city. If you send a spy there, then double click on the city to inspect it, you get a ctd.

We have been trying to nail that bug - it has to do with buildings in the city. Probably that building has a faulty graphic (grey scale, wrong formatting) which causes the crash.
Your crash log might be of help to pinpoint that building.

It must be a later building because the initial buildings do not cause a crash.

    Does this help?

Ok, here's my list of accumulated bugs from playing the campaign:

1: The village of Kaupanger cannot be upgraded. It seems that the wooden pallisade is already constructed, although on the battlemap, its has none, and its still a village.

2: That rebel stack that can cause an crash while fighting them as the Normans, although I belive it's already been looked into.

3: Influence of bards/skalds. It seems that some traits don't get read, as some bards have an accumulated +4 Influence points from traits, but only +2 is shown.

4: In some regions, although that the culture is 100% yours, there is still religious unrest, sometimes up to 20%.

5: I noticed that my upgraded Shrine and later Tempel of Odin never gets built. The Altar clearing remains, although in the building browser, it states that the buildings have been constructed. Also, the bonuses from the "constructed" buildings does not come into effect.

6: Playing as the Jarldom of Vestland, Erikir Bloodaxe was named my heir before he was exiled, and remained my heir (and later King) while in exile, nor did he dissapear from my family tree.

Oh and just in case some comes and shouts: "Pics or it didn't happen!!!", I do have pics, although no logs.

I tried it ending the turn and again the game ctds. I hope these logs help you.

I am curious. Does the "the Fool" attribute happen too easily? As normans, Hrolf got that even though and after he conquered a few provinces and won several battles.

Yo guys, I'm with a problem and would like to know if someone has gone through this too or know a solution.

I have Medieval II pirate on it ... and runs well.

    which has only one however.

My game is in the original version, 1.00. In the forum told me that the case not to install the Kingdom straightforward, ie, upgrading it to you (what happened by the way), I was to upgrade to 1.02 and 1.03 and then give yes install and upgrade to a Kingdom , 05.

I downloaded the patches, but in time I'm installing the first (1.02) comes near the end ... and left my pc on and a half hours ... nadaaa was simply standing in a file "/ packs/data_1.pack," it with only one bar to finish.

've reinstalled the game again and tried to install the patch (I tried 3 times in total) and nothing

Someone could help me? give a hint of what's happening and Talsi?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hug!

Solution: buy the original - we don't support pirated versions on this forum. A repeat of this request may invite punitive action. See the rules.

You will get a similar effect with a witch or heretic (or even a priest from another religion) in the regular game. 100% religion and religious unrest are not mutually exclusive.

Yes, but this was up in Tjötta (The most northern region there is), and there was no other characters or agents near it other than my +2 Skald, which should give positive effects no?

Did you lift the fog of war to check if there was no other agent?
No named character (general\family member) in the settlement?
If so, then it is indeed rather weird. I will have to check the bonuses of the buildings in the settlement, I faintly remember that there was one with unrest (mumble, mumble - was it this mod?)

Nope, none whatsoever. The only thing that I could think of was that possibly the neighbouring Viking settlment of Valhalla could cause some sort of interference, since they at the time only had 99% Viking culture. But otherwise there was nothing.

Oh, and the "Stew/Brothel" building gives an - percentage for law, but that should only create regular unrest, right?

Or it could have something to do with no shrines/temples being built.

Please give the game time to generate the new map. This can take up to two minutes and will happen only once.

When I played a game as Hordaland, I took the two most northern norway provinces along the coast, kampfangr, isle of mann, and the eastern most iceland settlement. But after beating vestfold and taking kampfangr the game ctds the next turn.

It might not be connected to the taking of the settlements. Can you please upload your crash log?

Hi, I have a problem with version 3.06, where I play as Denmark and then the Magyars conquers Hedeby (Nord-Sachsen) from me. They controlled the city for 2 turns then it rebelled against them (this was their only city), I then proceed to attack and destroy the Magyars army and after that I try to besiege Hedeby, but then the game crashes... Also I couldn't get the baptized normans bat file to work, when I run it normally, it says access denied when trying to copying files and when I run it in admin mode it can't find the files it is supposed to copy.

Access denied - the files are (write) protected. you will need admin rights and probably need to go through this article: How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems - start with step 3

The crash with the magyar issue could be a faulty buildnig - please compress your log and attach it, it will help determine which building that might be.

I thought I had already fixed the thing with the VirtualStore, but it seems that I haven't, after setting the correct security settings for my M2TW folder and made sure all the files were write protected the baptized normans batfile works! I have also included my logs (ZIP or RAR, your choice) with this post, so you perhaps can see if a building is actually the cause of the CTD. Thanks for your help so far
