Cannot atack Rome

Okay I got most of the Europe, more than 200 000 dinaries, ~7 000 / turn profit, huge strong armies that consisnt of high command generals and experienced urban cohorts and all kind of cool units. Got to this stage by playing 7 hours non stop yesterday

Now it's time to get Rome, I gathered my armies, but when tried to atack it told me that I can't atack rome as I do not have
enough popular demand . ffs how can I get this pop demand? I did like..3 missions for the senate and I don't really want to do
any more so it would be cool if there was a hardcore iron steel way to get their demand >

Conquer lots of territory and win lots of battles.

I never conquered Rome. Anyway Rome has 5000 less inhabitants than my biggest city so what would be the point in taking it ?
Do you get something special? is it extremely profitable and rich? or what's the deal

You need it to win the game. Plus after patch 1.2 it allows you to train first cohorts in Rome.

If you conquer territories do not exterminate the population. This lowers your popularity with the people.

Tell you a tip, just send a assassin to assassin Senate and hope the mission fail. Once it fails, Senate would declare war to you!

would it let me so if i sent an assasin to rome he would try and kill them
