Is this mod worth it?

The single file costs minimum 10 dollars, which I don't want to spend for mods which should be free.

Should I grit my teeth and pull through a 3 hour long download marathon? And how exactly do I run an exe when the download in parts have 11 rar files?

It is worth it, I would be a little more hostile at what is a fairly rude comment, but I do understand the Russian method of install is a , and the easier quicker english version are hidden. If that wernt the case, shove off buddy! But considering it is, yes sir, it is worth it, and not as hard to install as it seems.

Try using RedDwarf's torrent, it should download at a steady pace with limited interaction required.

Whether or not you wish to take the time and effort to set-up the mod determines if it's "worth it or not". In my opinion I would say yes, but your perspective may be different.

I'm a big fan of Warhammer 40k, but I've never delved into this fantasy before. And sorry folks I don't mean to be rude, just really didn't want to spend 3+ hours downloading one mod.

But okay I tried the torrent, and I think I'm getting screwed by my university. Do you know if ISP at universities can ban torrents by sending a disconnect signal to both ends? I know it happens with my regular ISP at home since I have comcast... but I mean this torrent isn't illegal or anything, so why can't I download? I got Utorrent and followed the link, waited 2 hours and there are no seeds or anything.

And I was too mainly 40k fan, but this mod totally changed my mind about the fantasy setting. It's one of the best MW2 mods out there, very loyal to the WH, and for me, maybe the best.

3 hours for hundreds of hours of gameplay doesn't sound bad to me.. so I would say yes, it's worth it.

The mod can be tough to get downloaded and running correctly (especially with the translation), but in short...yes. It is worth it. It is an amazing mod, and in my opinion it is already the best Warhammer computer game ever made and still getting better.

This is sad, but correct. As developers havent made anything close by the span and size as this modification.

In september i will have more free time and probably will try to find a stable download source for the mod, which hopefully will be user friendly and as a result increase the popularity of the mod.

The Customs Battles can be very good. Just reduce the unit cost and allow custom first though !
Some units are priced out otherwise !
The Campaign isn't playable without alteration.
I've fiddled about with the text files and scripts and I've got the CTD's down to only three in 22 turns (as opposed to almost every other turn!).
In my opinion it is potentially one of the best MOD's, BUT it needs the Third age touch. Easy download and no CTD's.

I wish the developers all the best with it..............

I am playing the latest version and I get completely random CTDs on average about every twenty turns, usually seems to happen when entering or leaving the battle map during the campaign. I have done everything suggested to fix these and am still getting them but to be honest the mod is so good that I just save every turn and ignore the CTDs.

Also it is possible your university doesn't allow torrent clients to be used, I know quite a few to block them some how. If you can get around it then the torrent worked perfectly for me.

3 Hours DL you say? You're lucky. I had to go through a day and a half to get this mod. The torrent kept stopping on me. So I had to download it in parts on a site that will only allow you 1 parallel download using free/regular download.

The mod is worth it. The battles, campaign, models, scripts, etc. So far the only CTD I had was during turn 4. After that it ran smooth. Running it on the highest possible settings.

Yes its worth it. The unit modelling is probably the best i've seen any mtw2 mod. The fact that they have models for weapon and armour upgrades is super impressive. My favourite being dwarf hammerers.

You go from chain mail and a small hammer to full plate and a much bigger more impressive looking hammer. Just that detail playing custom battles is enough to download it imo.

The only issue i have with this mod is the campaign map crashes, although i don't get them often they can be annoying. I now have a habit of saving every turn using ctrl s at the start of my turn.

Oh, it's worth it, buddy. Although, like people have said, the crashes are a little annoying. Some people get them, some don't ... It's hit or miss. It's still worth it, though. The dedication that was put into this mod is outstanding, and should have a higher following.
