Default Looking at new computers but.....

My current computer's processor is annoying the crap out of me. Now I'm not sure, I don't think it can be upgraded so I've been searching around internet for cheap, decent computers. I've found a few that I think are bargains but the thing is, my current graphics card is great, Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT. And I couldn't find a cheap computer with the same standard of graphics card. Most of the computers I found were ATI graphics card, so I wondering what are the chances of me being able to take the graphics card out of my current computer and put it into the new one?

Not sure if I've given enough info, to be honest, I don't really understand computer that much.

From what I gather from your post your looking at pre-built ones. Id reccomend building your own with the parts you choose. Can you tell us what your processor is? Also can you give a budget and what you want your pc to do. i.e gaming, work etc.

I am looking for a pre-built one. To be honest, I'd rather not build my own because I can see that going wrong, I just don't know enough about computers yet, and I don't think there is much of a point since I'm just looking for a cheap computer that will do the job

Can you tell us what your processor is?
    AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+
    2.19 GHz, 2GB of RAM

Also can you give a budget and what you want your pc to do. i.e gaming, work etc.
Well the budget I've been working with is £450 and I'm looking for mainly a gaming PC

Try relaxing... Ok, that was a joke.

But come on seriously, we can't know what your problem with your computer is from that

'Gaming' is pretty vague too, what sort of games do you want to play?

Or do you just want to hear about max value for money around the 450 mark?

    edit:

Ah, 3700+, OK that gives some idea

Alright, well basically the processor is just too slow for my liking. Back in the days when I knew even less about computers, I went into a computer store and asked the manager if he could help me upgrade it. He did the job and I ended up with a great graphics card but a processor that could barely keep up. And this didn't work very well considering the most graphically demanding game I had at the time was probably Sim City 3000.

I play a Paradox Interactive games and Football Manager always finds it's way on to my desktop so having a strong processor would help a lot. I also have NBA 2K11 on my computer as well, and that's why I don't want to leave my graphics card behind. Also, it would be a terrible waste of money

Or do you just want to hear about max value for money around the 450 mark?
To be honest, that wouldn't be too bad either

You could look into getting a computer built for you. I'm sure there will be someone nearby offering to build a custom computer for a small fee. Thats what I've done with the three computers I've owned.

I also have a laptop, which came loaded with bloatware. I was so glad I didn't get a pre-built computer when I saw what was on it.
