was he not injured at the back end of last year as well?, good potential player but would have thought a keeper, a defender and an on field leader would be more important, and if that does not pacify Nasri then a replaement for him as well (I assume Fabregas is dead man walking already)

I understand why everyone elses interest in Chamberlain cooled if that was the asking price...

It's more than the price for Jordan Henderson ffs. Thrice the price of Charlie Adam and thrice the (suggested) price for Jose Enrique and double the price of Gael Clichy.

    Where's Arsenals new defender btw?

Yup. Nice player, but not £20 m worth. Thanks very much Liverpool, we bought virtually an entire team with that money.

No amount of potential can justify €10-15M spent on a 17 year old, imo.

I wonder if all these London riots are going to screw up the start of the EPL and that England v Holland friendly. I know West Ham postponed a league cup game due to it all.

You've also got reports of similar happening in Birmingham and Liverpool

My verdict for the top 4 this year:

    1st: Manchester united

Seeing as how we performed on sunday against Manchester city in the community shield i reckon we can win it for a 20th time. I thought De gea played well even though he let 2 goals he made up for it with some great saves towards the end of the game also resereve player cleverley played well and if we do get sneijder we will definetly have the league.

    2nd: Chelsea

Although i do see manchester city as major contenders for 2nd place i dont think they will perform as well as chelsea.

    3rd: Manchester city

Even with new signings like Aguero and Savic i still dont think City are close to winning the league.

    4th: Liverpool

Sorry arsenal fans it seems to me that liverpool got better after they sold fernando torres to chelsea.

Exactly, Wenger is quite simply retarded. With that £15m he could have bought a player who is decent now. He just seems to be getting worse and worse at this transfer thing. Now, instead of spending money to improve his team now, he's throwing bucket loads of money to get youngsters. What the hell goes through his head?

With £15M, he could have easily got Per Mertesacker whom Arsenal have been stalking for this past year.
